I think Suho mentioned recently that following his solo albums, you'll see a trend of him slowly evolving into more brit-rock (a genre that he loves). As coming directly from him in EXO to his 3rd solo , i understand it may seem like a drastic change. But he said he had slowly prepared us with the transition through his previous solo albums. Self Portrait (1st mini album) was more of a rock/ballad. Had elements of rock but also had the sweet/comforting voice we are used to hearing him in exo. I do recommend checking his live sessions available on the exo channel as it is TOP TIER. In his 2nd album, Grey Suit, he wanted to let people know of his vocal range and definitely further diving into rock with more alternative rock genres. Now, his 3rd album is definitely a genre he loves and enjoys performing. As someone who enjoys his solo songs, I've seen the growth and his passion behind the genre. He even formed a band himself. His live performances are always better as you get a live band experience. (This is not discrediting his studio ver)

So funny because Mayday is such a familiar and cozy sound to me! I’m probably a good 15 years older than you and it’s very reminiscent of the progressive rock/ emo I listened to back in the late 90s and early 00s! I am glad you are doing a deep dive into to EXO’s soloists because you can really see the range of talent and tastes that the guys have! Wishful Thinking is very heavily influenced by The Beatles so if you haven’t listened to that type of music, you’re probably going to be so confused 😂 Moonlight reminds me of Weezer’s Island In The Sun! Ok I’m done haha

He sounds really good in all of his works but this genre seems to fit his style more. It’s definitely different from EXO but all the soloist get to show their own personalities in their solos which I personally love.

British rock is SUHO's favorite genre and he does it with his music. ❤❤❤ I love all his albums but Self-Portrait is still my favorite album of his. (1st mini-album)

Suho's first 2 albums would have been the albums to listen to to get a taste of Suho's vocals...this album has gone off into Brit Pop that is okay, but his second album "Grey Suit" is what suits him the most, where he took more of a chance in pushing his vocal limits, and his sound really got me in the heart. This new album is a bit safe and plain..please do his "Grey Suit" album that has 2 mvs "Grey Suit" and "Hurdle"....he came out the military and did the "Grey Suit" album, and traveled abroad promoting his 2 albums. But this outer space safe pop album does not do his vocals or music production justice...either the 2 previous albums would give you such a shock Laken, I really hope you can do them, if not reacting, on your own time. "DECANTING" and "BEAR HUG" I think you would really like...only lyric videos available though. 2 very popular lyric videos that shook so many os us, since we were excited for his discharge. 💙🌺
