I finally pulled the trigger and got myself one. This big buggy is now the favorite RC vehicle on my shelf. Those big wheels add some legs on this beast, and makes 6s feel like 8s. I LOVE THIS RIG!!!

The Super Losi LASERNUT is a thrill and a joy to drive on dirt, grass, and asphalt. This, hands down, is the BEST RC vehicle I have EVER owned. In the backyard, comprising of grass and dirt, it exhults in dust roosters, turning on a dime, and giving it's long suspensions a workout, which is a joy in itself to seeing those shocks moving erratically. And that reedy sound. ... I love that sound; and then there's the speed that's very manageable. And the braking: No need to increase its braking strength as it is, stock; I guess it's good enough for my driving style. IT HAS TWO MAJOR CONS, HOWEVER: With hard driving, every one of the body panels screwed to the rollcage shatter at the points they are attached. The includes the cockpit complete with driver figures. The solution to the latter issues, however, though tedious, is taking off all of those panels and reinforcing the complete inner surfaces with drywall tape and shoo goo. GREAT RC VEHICLE!

Actually the Motor and ESC are fine, although they are at their limit and the motor should have come with a cooling fan. This thing doesn't weigh the 22+ lbs that the SBR 2.0 weighs. Despite its size, its only 16.6 lbs (weighed by DoRC in his review). The Arrma Big Rock 6S is 14.5 lbs, so this is only 2 lbs heavier than the Big Rock. The drivetrain is also okay as long as you can stop the dogbones from popping out (DoRC put O-rings in output cups with great success). The real issue with this buggy is the chassis is hardly reinforced and DoRC bent his with just light bashing, and the A-Arms and Shock towers are just too small for the extra weight. Also it seems very poorly built by Horizon/Losi and has a lot of dumb problems right out of the box such as links popping off because the screw heads are smaller than the holes and have no washers to retain the link if it pops off the ball (WTF Losi thats so dumb lol 🤣). Overall its still a failure, but it has potential. Losi could potentially salvage the buggy with stronger arms, pins, and shock towers, along with an aluminum top plate and chassis braces to reinforce such a long chassis so probe to bending. But after all that additional weight, it might then become TRULY too heavy for the 6S system. So theres a chance this buggy already needs a complete overhaul. I really hope Losi makes changes immediately or else nobody is going to buy this thing.

@LosiRacing4 ай бұрын
learning and improving is our focus... negative feedback was considered when developing this truck. You can see things as glass half full or empty... AKA this can be a more expensive Lasernut or the least expensive large scale in the market ! and imagine those sway bars being aluminum or metal.. they would just be leverage points and break or bend... so they need to be plastic to have the completed look like the real truck but be strong and cost efficient for an RTR !
@praetor474 ай бұрын
@@LosiRacing no. this is THE most expensive large scale on the market, because you DID NOT IMPROVE, you made THE SAME MISTAKES and used an inappropriate, undersized chassis for such a large, heavy car, so it will break much much more often [exactly like the smaller predecessor!! this is NOT learning or improving] than any other large scale rc in the market! the proof is in the pudding, and yours isn't half full as an Ultra 4 fanboy i want to love this, but the problems are too great and expensive to fix [not to mention the superficial aesthetic scale adherence, without even trying to replicate some of the important drivetrain components like the portals... something boutique chinese brands have already been doing for a while. let that sink in]
