That is the rig I currently have, but I have extensively upgraded mine. It's a very strong base for a build. That Stealth-X transmission is much stronger than you would think and holds higher power well. I did switch to 1.9" from the factory 1.5" wheel/tire combo. Good video.

@shadow77964 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is suprisingly strong when built right. Mine has an aluminum case from Hot Racing, Factory Team metal gears, along with the Hot Racing overdrive 02 to the front axle. Which gives it 20-25% at the front wheels instead of the stock gears that just underdrive the rear. It has worked out very nicely. Hooked up to MIP driveshafts and Beeftubes axles, it is a stout system while also being durable. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Got my Trailwalker a month ago. Very surprised at the capabilities of this truck. Bought it as a Class 1 or even just as a trail rig. Fixed the body rub by mounting smaller tires! - RCWD 1.5 Wrangler MTRs. Smaller tires add to the scale factor and don’t hurt performance. Also installed a Reefs 422 winch. The out-of-the-box overdrive is a great feature. The lightest and best balanced of my rigs. This weekend I swapped out the rear plastics for the hard stuff (will do the skid and front later) and installed a Reefs anti-sway bar kit - torque twist is virtually eliminated now (it was bad before, especially driving up steep inclines). I’m keeping the stock electronics as long as possible. I’m adding the rear canopy shell, inner fenders, and Lexan interior for looks.

Switch that SC400X to an SC480X ESC. The latter has an optional program card with a reverse adjustment. It'll also run a lower turn motor(10t 3-slot) as opposed to the stock esc(16t 3-slot) on 3-s. Did it with mine and was much better. Currently running a 12t Radon on 3-s with no issues.

With the trailwalker on sale for $250 for black friday and still on sale some places online, its definitely a better buy than the enduro builder kit for $240. I grabbed one, put some 1.9 beadlocks and 4.7 hyrax and a VS410 halfcab body on mine since the stock body is too tight around the wheel wells for any decent tire size above stock.

I almost bought one of these recently but decided on the Axial Wraith 2.2 instead. The reasons I went with the Wraith was that I had never heard of Element before and wasn't sure parts were going to be available for a good amount of time, and the stock wheels are only 1.55 size instead of 1.9 or 2.2. But it was a tough choice. Then later I wallowed out the pin slot in the back of my wheel hubs within the first 3 minutes of running the axial and now I'm waiting for aluminum 12mm hexes.... lol

I put a Mamba X in it hoping to keep improve torque-density with more "throttle-steps" from the X...it didn't help. So I put a Revolver in there. Today I have a huge Pullrr Pro R 540L 4100kv Stroker(stroker because it has a 560-ish size rotor)in it. It does everything awesomely. 7:00 Yup, as I keep telling everyone, don't buy this truck if you live where rocks are the size of baseballs, or there are roots and branches to crawl over. Those pumpkins are awful, and the small tires make trailing a nightmare. BUT, if your terrain consists of big smooth, rolling boulders, go for it. LIke most people, I took out the Lexan scissors and slapped 1.9s on mine. Great value for the buck, but you do have to replace the steering servo.
@daveminor87623 жыл бұрын
What happened to the servo? I might be having issues with mine and I’d like to narrow down what problems mine is having.
@NaturallyRC3 жыл бұрын
@@daveminor8762 I installed it in a new Gen8 PACK prior to realizing a design flaw where the servo horn is upfront and exposed to striking rocks. The main bearing got destroyed, and a new bearing only helped a little, since the indentation in the upper casing that holds the bearing was egg-shaped. Redcat's fault, not the servo. I have since fabbed up a servo horn protector for that rig, too late, alas, for the 35.

Hello can you please help with a dilemma? I want to buy a new crawler truck. I already have a trx4 with minor upgrades like servo, esc, lighter proline body, better front bumper, locked diffs and I really love the performance of the car. It's not gonna win championships but that's not my intention. My budget is like 500 euros to begin with, afterwards I can upgrade but I want a decent car to start with. I prefer a kit cause I never build a crawler and I can use the experience. I was thinking the redcat gen 8 pack, élément enduro kit or maybe mst cfx w. I live in belgium so prices are little different. The redcat and element are each 250eu as kit. The mst is like 359-399 depending the body. I really love the mst body's, awesome. Or maybe just another trx4 (sport or not). It's just so hard to choose. I want a decent car to begin with. I already have a decent 4ch transmitter and 6ch receiver so I just need a hw1080, motor and a servo, that's around 80-100€ so I have 400 left for a kit. Please give me your opinion or give me at least a direction 🤣 thanks mate. Happy new year and stay safe

The not including hard plastic parts is a very common thing in racing 1/10 buggies but just absolutely dumb in crawling but element is team associated after all. They thought they could get away with the same crap everyone pulls with racing buggies. X-Ray started that trend and then everyone followed suit. It's been marketed as a "tuning option" on the buggy racing side. Hopefully they learned their lesson since the gatekeeper is now hard plastics stock.
