The Bandit, Rustler and Stampede are all great rc’s! There is a reason Traxxas has had these forever and do not change them except the body paint. They preform good and are very easy to work. You definitely need to keep it 2s and do a gearing change.

Love the bandit' I ended up using the green integy aluminum shock towers ' along with a matching integy bulkhead stiffened her up' it's a very UNDERRATED buggy. Enjoy the hidden gem brother definitely go brushless ' personally I do use the venelion system' people bash traxxxas. I have not been let down by traxxas in 20 plus years. Perhaps I am the only one but not even batteries have let me down' fastest name in radio control 😎

I have a Bandit that I bought 24 years ago. It originally had a mechanical ESC. It has a orange body with checker flags on the front of the body. I changed the esc back then to a electronic ESC. The body is alot more squarer than the new ones. I just pulled it back out. I ordered a 12t motor and newer brushed EDC for now. It originally came with a 20T Stinger motor. I put a 9T competition motor in it. I kept melting batteries left and right. Geezus!!!! It was crazy fast!!! Not geared right lol. I put it away right after that so I didn't fix it. I went Nitro so she was boxed up. It's time. She needs new electronics. Prob going with the Valenion VXL setup soon.

IF u stay with the national 'guidelines' on 2wd, 2s is plenty. U can also use music/piano wire, using different thicknesses to completely adjust the wing.

Rpm parts are made out of very flexible plastic, you want to eliminate flex in the shock towers. That's why most race buggies use carbon shock tower, very little flex
@DocWolph2 жыл бұрын
This is true. However, stiffer parts are great for precision. Not bashing. Watching all that chassis slapping and crashing, CF shock towers may not last long.

Stock Drag Slash rear axles fit and are much more durable than the stock Bandit axles. These are lighter and cheaper than aftermarket products. As for the rear shocks, adding shims to the bottom shock mount is needed because the angle of the shock isn't right. You will need longer screws.

The extreme heavy duty drive shafts from traxxas hold up to 3s reasonably well. There a little oversize and made from a dark grey plastic.
@Stepside9062 жыл бұрын
i say 2s and gear up the pinion a tooth or 2. 2s is lighter. plus if you know how much battery you need to finish a race you can run the smallest battery possible to lighten the rig up even more. lot of people racing with 5k or 6k packs adding a bunch of unneeded weight. yeah weight can mean more traction but weight also adds to breaking stuff more when you crash and not jumping as smooth. back when i raced i ran a 3500mah 2s lipo and still had 1/4 battery left end of race. i probably could have gotten by with a 3k pack.
