It takes a mod .8. Or a 32p pinion with a 4mm bore. 11t or 12t is good for this truck.

Not much videos with the R-2 FOC 1400kv combos on the internet…. Looking to put into a TRX-4 2021 bronco. Any thoughts on that?

It’s just a slow combo and the startup rotation is the same as the faster motors from what I’ve been told. The faster motors can be geared down for the most part with the small 1/8” shaft and get better low end resolution. These systems can only do 3S so you can’t really volt up to get speed. Gotta gear up and that’s not the best way.

you should change the shock towers to the 8216 version on the creep you can cut an inch out the rear end bringing it near flush with the rear tires

Bein as that motor has the 5mm shaft,does that effect gear mesh? Maybe a lesser range of gearing options?

I've really only looked for 5mm pinions so I don't know how small they go for the standard bore, but for 5mm I've seen as small as 9t. It's hard to find anything smaller than 11t, but the 9t and 10t ARE out there.

Have you damaged your diffs from jumping yet On any of your traxxas crawlers? Cause my diffs have lasted for two years and the tiny gears inside were shot a week ago so I ordered a whole new trx4 defender axle fully assembled on eBay.

Tough out if the box? 🤣 mine had a broken panhard mount (portion that is part to the front fender) out of the box. Traxxas is sending me a new one, but want to talk about a disappointment. That R2 system is crazy powerful though, I like it a lot! 👍🏼

Pls answer. Really curious to know your take on this question I’ve asked a lot of people on Facebook. I have a 3000kv cheap 👈cheap motor from amazon. It’s brushless 540 motor Paired with a 3 s Arrma esc punch set to1 and it basically the speed of what you got here. Straight to the question is it to powerful for the gen 8 truck would you do it. Should be plenty fine in the gen8. Make sure the tcase gear is shimmed so the pin stays in. I have a video on that I did a while back

@@ExocagedRC As seen months ago yes I did that. I follow every vid I see come up bud. Subscribed a long time ago. 👊😀❤️ I think the pinion is 10 teeth way to small. 3 s lipo full tilt and no wheel spin just gets up and goes a bit quick. I’d say it’s bloody perfection With a bigger pinion mabey the motor will get warm. ❤️😍 Thank you Sir I waited to know first. 2100kv is like stock speed. 2800kv is way faster. You dont need more. Do the firmware update. Hobbywing v2 app
