The dsm i made has the same retraction issue. I ended up using a copper crimp sleeve for large gauge wire and drilled the bumper out just enough and epoxied it in. Retracts perfectly everytime now.

I wanna thank you for the dsm self retracting line. I bought two of them and a life line. Very helpful tool! Haha i laugh because i do the barely hanging on trick to make things scale haha ( when the hook snaps off)

That's pretty freaking cool! Looks WAY easier to install, and like you said, doesn't require an extra channel on your remote for a wench. Also, don't have to worry about spooling it back up. Very nice!

That kit is kinda cool. It would save me a lot of time compared to struggling and struggling and struggling on some obstacles out on the trail. I’m generally to too into scale recoveries and no hand of God runs, but I still think this is kind of cool because of how simple it is. Edit: it was very easy to rig up a DIY version on my Ascender. Thanks for the inspiration.

I bought one of these based off your first install... Was so impressed. I originally got it for my trx4... But decided it would fit better on my handmade jeep bodies scx10. Curious how you would route it on a trx4?

I made a DIY version 4mm Bungee, sewing machine bobbin and a double frog hook...

The tires do seem to be hooking up much better! Seems that i heard somewhere that if you put just the tires in a ziplock bag sprayed down with mean green for a couple days it softens up the compound? You hear or experience anything like that? Ps. I always gotta fix my mirrors too lol

1:1 scale does not use elastic rope. So my crawler group bans it.

BubbaRope is elastic and they make them for Jeeps or side by sides up to commercial applications with a breaking strength of 131,500 pounds.
