I love that it was a clean installation and if you wanted to make the Box a little less sensitive you can put some sound dampening on top of it and that would help to keep the sensitivity down

EXO on the lights, might want to try something like a piece of cloth over the built in mic to muffle out the higher frequencies and lessen the sensitivity.

I remember years and years ago, a buddy of mine grabbed a (single) light strip from a local PC parts store and placed it above his keyboard tray. This thing had a sensitivity knob that maxed out at "always on" and he'd use it for night typing. Just a thought.

weird assuming you did it yesterday I was doing the same thing but inside the house. Yesterday I just installed a cheap ($4.88 Walmart cheapie) RGB LED strip behind my computer desk. Since they worked well for the price I ended up buying 4 more packs.

I recommend OPT7. Great quality and AWESOME customer service. I have had my wheel well kit working since May, 2016.. One time I got curious and wanted to see how far one strip would bend and a solder broke, so OPT7 gave me a FREE REPLACEMENT STRIP!

That control box probably has a little microphone hole in it somewhere - just cover it up with some tape and that'll probably do the trick to muffle down the sensitivity.

They're still out there, just not as bright. I like how the neon tubes had an uniform spread even at direct gaze. Unlike LEDs which emanate from individual spots.

yo dude. if you want to secure them a bit better, just run a bead of clear silicone down each side of the strips. i can almost guarantee the adhesive strips will let go when you pound some bass. 😎👌

I found that pre-assembled kids like this don't have the sound response quality that I look for. I ended up buying a set of the multi colored LED strips from AutoZone a three-button switch spend some time to coding what wire controlled what light and got everything to work how I wanted it to you can tap into your speaker without affecting speaker power all that much and with the 3 buttons im able to get 7 colors out if it amd i have 9 total light units running of a bridged rear speaker channel. I like the control i have and with a change to the EQ you can achieve a totally different response.
