This chapter shocked me 😱

Ungratefulness, lack of appreciation, impatience may lead people to death in the face of God. Anger may let you do unwise things like Moses breaking the tablets and Lord almost brought disaster to the children of Israel if it weren't for Moses reminding Him of the covenant made to Abraham, Isaac, and Israel.

What was the plague ?

I feel like this chapter pushes me away from hiw God is depicted in the Bible. For me it's hard to feel understanding towards killing 3,000 people. They may be wicked but is it truly and act of all loving all knowing God to murder 3000 people. On top of that I can't imagine grinding up gold and forcing people to drink it. That's all I feel. Let me know what you guys think

I understand your view point. Then again I do understand God’s frustration with the Israelites. The Israelites have been witness to some unbelievable miracles of God. They’ve also witnessed the wrath of God( all those plagues) so you’d think that they would know better. Our God is a jealous God. Exodus 20:4

God doesnt murder people, He relocates them. It’s our free will to go against God, and our consequences. God is the ultimate Judge, the people were judged.
