Huh? Any interaction between a human and a god is always one of abject subjugation to a capricious and evil entity. The definition of a god is a being that could end human suffering on a whim, but they never do, this is torture reflected within humanity's lens of heroism to extract meaning from a contrived a meaningless situation. Please stop with this unearned and unexamined adulation. Meaning only exists in the absence of the supernatural, in the absence of life of after death, in only the accomplishment against natural adversity.

This scene captures the crossing of the Red Sea the best. Most, if not all depictions in the Bible always have Moses slam his staff into the sea and part a path through the water. Respectfully though, that's not realistic. That's just simply not a feasible feat. The historical tales of the exodus more accurately say that the Hebrews crossed the red sea during a low tide AND while there was a strong easterly wind that literally blew the red sea aside. Such a thing has never happened again since the exodus. It just seems TOO coincidental that the Hebrews got their chance to cross while the Red Sea was in low tide while also having a strong wind blow the current aside. It's not as spectacular as literally parting the waves, but you could still definitely say it was some kind of act of God

Yeppers a strong east wind blew all night. At God's command, Moses held his staff out over the water, and throughout the night a strong east wind divided the sea, and the Israelites walked through on dry land with a wall of water on either side. The Egyptians pursued them, but at daybreak God clogged their chariot-wheels and threw them into a panic, and with the return of the water, the pharaoh and his entire army are destroyed.[4] When the Israelites saw the power of God, they put their faith in God and in Moses, and sang a song of praise to the Lord for the crossing of the sea and the destruction of their enemies.

Some say that the Excalibur reference is based on a Midrashic source where Moses pulled the staff given to Adam by God out of the ground. The staff was said to have certain powers, and Adam stuck it into the ground to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. Nobody was able to extract it until Moses, who was seen by his then future father-in-law (Jethro) "strolling around" with it. This was also the staff that Moses waved over the sea, so it's like a reference to a reference, if you dig that. _"And you raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and split it, and the children of Israel shall come in the midst of the sea on dry land." Indeed this movie is Hollywood garbage that twists the Scripture, but you're kind of a hypocrite because you yourself just did modified what the Bible says. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deuteronomy 4:2 KJV What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Deuteronomy 12:32 KJV

The people were of little faith. They would not have crossed until they have seen driy land. This shows the opposite of what would of happened. Only until the death and Resurrection of Yeshua did people begin to have faith without seeing. I never seen our Lord and Savior but I believe.
@sonofblessed3 жыл бұрын
You also haven't seen Krishna or Quetzalcoatl, yet you don't believe in them. _Not_ seeing is not the means by which you establish faith, but to the contrary; seeing. True, you may accuse people who have not seen of weak faith, but humanity is guilty of so many false claims that the only way to bridge the gap between belief and knowledge is national witness, which is probably why the Torah says _"And Israel saw the great hand, which the Lord had used upon the Egyptians, and the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in Moses, His servant."_ (Exodus 14:31) It is true that the Jews experienced this faith relatively late, i.e., only after the whole ordeal of the ten plagues (said to have taken about one year), but it can be said that up until this very moment it was not clear that God's promise to Abraham (Genesis 15:16) had really come to fruition. Unarguably (we) the Jews are a stiff-necked people, but when a stiff-necked person becomes convinced, he never turns away. This is what God wants of the Jewish People, His treasured nation; He gave them what He didn't give to any other nation, which is a national revelation, so that the basis for their belief would be unshakable (notwithstanding the imperfect record of the nation as a whole). What really gets under Christians' skin is that God did not duplicate any form of national revelation in any of His "subsequent revelation updates." A national revelation can only be replaced by another at least as convincing; instead there are four books that differ on relevant details and a series of scattered reports of eye witnesses penned by third parties between 20 and 70 years after the apparent resurrection. Could you imagine if the Exodus account had been recorded this way? Four accounts of the Exodus differing in significant details penned between 20 and 70 years later by authors that did not experience it themselves.

Looks way different than how the actual Bible verse sounds. Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. Exodus 14:21-22 ESV
