@@LydiaDeetz11 Yes Lord! I do have a mortgage, for a coop apartment I purchased in the mid-2000s, but no man (has not been any since early 1990s), no kids! My mother passed (finally) after a lengthy, and protracted illness, that she would never recover from. Her loved ones are blessed, bec she took a long enough time, for all of us to reconcile the she WOULD be dying. We blessed! 🥲

I'm a black woman who is childfree and my goal is to permanently leave the United States and move to Portugal. I'm learning Portuguese and learning Portuguese culture. I find it easy to leave the United States due to being unmarried and childfree, there is nothing holding me back. I have been studying Portugal's economy and the many career opportunities. I'm ready to leave the United States, I will never come back unless I visit my mother. More black women are about to exit this country and I'm supportive of it. I 100% agree; fellow supporter right here! I found a way to live on about $6000 a year, sell digital products and hop around from country to country kitty-sitting and caring for homes whilst the owners travel too. Love my life. Love it!!! Although he lives in a supportive house program, i have to be here for him to assist him in getting to complete self advocacy. I had dreamed of living nomadic when i was childless and single. It just got real. I've been lurking around this site for some time, and now it is time to act. I'm widowed and child-free. I don't have a house since I live with family. Luckily, I am very comfortable financially. (Thanks, hubby, dad, and me.) My plan is to establish a safe harbor outside the US should I and my household need to leave for good. That means purchasing a living space for four adults. Mexico City may be just the place. Time to do the work.

A friend put me on to this group because she is planning to leave the country in a few years. Unfortunately I cannot, I have a husband, a home, a govt job that won’t allow me to work outside of the U.S. I know my husband won’t want to leave because his son and mom are here Just my reality. I have elderly parents and a mom whom I’d love to take from here but she will be living with us where we can protect her. But I commend you all for this and I’ll follow you alls progress. Aloha from Maui, I think what u two do is wonderful. I been to 22 countries. I started at 16 year old traveling by myself. So l am cheering everyone on and it’s great to have a support group.
