The video shows clearly what led to it. He acted foolish, attacked the deputy and the deputy defended himself… you can try and spin it but the truth is what it is. Had he pulled over the first time he turned his signal on and just taken his ticket he’d still be breathing. He didn’t though, he made bad decisions and he got what he got.

Each time you try and resist your putting your life in danger because once again black people have a problem of listening, following directions and play to many games, using the race card, having a nasty attitude police don't have time for all the nonsense. I agree that man should be taken off road. But the way this officer handles it was very unprofessional. From what I understand and remembered the taser should only be used when the suspect resists violently or poses a threat. From that video, I do not see violent actions or threats before the officer uses the taser. Refuse to comply shouldn't be the reason for using taser. It escalated the situation quickly.

I’m against excessive force and police brutality. This case is not it. The police officer used the least amount of force building up to the lethal force as he was struggling and fighting for his own life. Cure made very poor decisions. Should’ve just taken the ticket or whatever penalty was coming his way for excessive speeding. I understand his fear of cops and him being wrongfully imprisoned. It doesn’t give him a pass with future law enforcement interactions. Cure cannot behave in the manner that he did without consequences. So sad all the way around.

The man was defiant from the beginning as if the deputy wasn't allowed to pull him over. To be non compliant, verbally, and then physically aggressive are all paths that the deputy didn't choose to take but were dealt to him by this very narrow-minded man. Unfortunately, it ended with this man's death. Now, the deputy is forced to continue on and live with the unnecessary stigma of taking someone's life. Condolences to the deceased family. I pray that the dead man's family realize that the deputy exercised restraint and was absolutely professional in carrying out his duties. May God be with him and all that are affected.

Cure never cooperated from start to finish. He was driving over 100 mph. He took his time before he pulled over to start with. He took his time getting out of the truck after being instructed to. The first words out of Cure's mouth were "I ain't doing $h1t. The officer did call for backup. From the beginning Cure was in a verbal and physical offensive posture. He was non compliant from start to finish. The officer was fighting for his life before he was forced to use his firearm. The media needs to start reporting and showing the whole truth about what they are reporting, and stop reporting and showing the bits and pieces they want to use, and then filling in with how they want to create the story. The media is supposed to report the news. Not create the news. Smart people have the sense to see the truth. Stupid people have to be told what to believe.

Guy wouldn’t have been so upset if the cop would have treated him with respect when they first interacted. Mans hands were in the air the whole time. Nothing to be afraid of yet the officer taser him. That’s when the man really lost his cool and did things that warranted the shooting. The point is if the officer interacted with the man with respect the situation would not have escalated to that point. The officer confronted the individual yelling, with anger and demanding things. Aside from the reality that, if the video exonerated the cops entirely, we'd have probably seen it by now, the fact that "we haven't seen what happened" is exactly what needs to change. Where's the transparency? Why isn't the sheriff's office commenting? Do they not answer to the public? Where's the video? Overall patterns in any group tend to homogenize. Those with the most assured personalities tend to "navigate" most of the group in the direction they assume by default. This is not to imply that "less ranking" members are innocent and were just manipulated into deviant behavior. Instead, they were just hesitant to be first, lest there not be enough support for such actions. But once accepted into the dominant force, the take to it with zeal, as if to chastise themselves for not being the guiding light. Therefore, like "mission creep" in the military, they begin to see themselves as more knowledgeable than the court system and feel the need to fulfill the desire to "enact justice" at their sole discretion. Ego increases exponentially with each award and recognition, because they're obviously pleasing their superiors. The Patriot Act swelled the heads of cops thousands of miles away in every city and hamlet. Law enforcement has devolved as that age group climbed the police ranks, all that time being exalted as heros. To a certain type of mind, that means their decisions are alway right, because they are better than "civilians". So, yes, there is a statistical reason why this death, like so many others might be the result of police escalation. There is far too much evidence of a growing abuse problem within all US police forces. It does require an open and transparent investigation. IMO.
