I enjoy these discussions, each podcast has been great- thank you! Opinion on a crucifix being spiritually corrupted - as you mentioned objects being deceptively “cursed” effectively. Seems to me if the intent of the object’s owner is pure, good, praise given to God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and His resurrection- wouldn’t this overcome any corrupt spirit by virtue of God’s infinite goodness and power?

That's true, Jesus doesn't have a pleasant chat with the demons. On the other hand, he doesn't speak to them with hatred or even anger, just firmness. He even accedes to their request on one occasion to allow them to go into the swine instead of going back to the pit.

This has always been a point of meditation for me. Mary also speaks of the demons in her apparitions, but without any hatred or anger.

My priest, or better one of the priest at my church, here in Colombia, fervently teaches that isn’t sin less a devil. Worst, he teaches this farce during his Bible class.
