You get some exceptional haul in Newark Penn, but no offence, the state of that station is horrific, platforms should not crumble like so!

I can totally agree. The last time I went to Newark Penn, I actually saw some construction workers fixing up some of the platform.

Excellent coverage of this station. I will be driving from Ohio to film there for the first time. Looks like noon is the best time (with sunlight coming in). Any suggestions on best platforms to film from? Anybody hassle you about filming? Thanks!

I would recommend platform 4 and 5 because most Amtrak trains stop there. Although most people won’t hassle you about filming, there is a lot of homeless in Newark. There is also a bit of gun violence in the area, but as long as you don’t go to Newark at night and pay attention to your surroundings you should be good. Have a good trip 👍
