Great video, Mark, those were some nice specks you landed but the snapper certainly stole the show, and it appeared to cook up just perfect! Take care and be safe!

Mr. MDLR I came here to brag in the comments haha. I didn’t catch a pb or nothin’ but I did accomplish a goal! Walked out, hiked out the north jetty almost all the way to the boat cut! What I discovered is, there is another smaller “cut before the cut”😅 So I got about 300 yards from the north jetty boat cut but I couldn’t jump across the cut before the cut. But it is narrow enought that if I had a pair of jetty spikes, I’d definitely try to jump across the cut before the cut. And danged if the birds weren’t swarming the cut like maniacs!! But I had to plop down and fish where I was😅 No skunk! One 10 incher trout in slightly less than ideal conditions today June 26. Your fellow youtuber Fish ‘n Trips inspired me to accomplish this in one of his videos from a couple years ago.

😎What it DO?! The struggle is real. Nice bounce back from the heat. Mangoes are the best eating snapper for me. They put up a nice fight for their size. I really would like to see them put limits on them. These fish are not indegenious to texas waters but are establishing themselves. It kills me seeing people catch coolers full of the smaller ones 10” and under just because there are no regs in place. Texas Fisheries has talked about limits but just haven’t moved it yet. I believe it’s coming soon though. Other than that, keep on with the content! PEEEAAACCCEE!!!💯💯🤟

Do you use braided line when fishing with live bait?

I've been fishing for a while and this is the first time I've seen anyone dispatch the fish and then cut the gills and drain it then remove the innards. My question is do you do this to all the fish?? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm genuinely trying to learn this so I can do it from here on out. Thanks.

Does it makes a difference that when I fish with live shrimp I use a one oz weight instead of using a popping cork I only get croakers and whitening haven’t catch any specs or sheep’s :/ Using live shrimp

Good on ya for gutting the fish to keep better till you make it home. Another thing I’ve learned about speckled trout is they don’t keep well in the freezer. They tend to get mushy, which is why not all but most times I’ll filet them & fry them same day, or next day while they sit on ice overnight.
@MDLRFishingАй бұрын
I've definitely learned that the hard way. 😅

As a former Floridian I noticed when you showed your setup small hook split shot small swivel. Before watching the video I know you caught a mangrove. I have caught a lot of them off the Texas City dike end. Play hide in the bottom in and out of the rocks. Good job
