Fun fact: Patunga grasshopper is an alien invader in Thai ecosystem, they're not native. ~43 years ago the immense plague of locusts swarmed in from Cambodia and started annihilating Thai crops. A lot of measurements were brought up against and most of them failed until some one got a bright idea of catching and selling the locusts themselves as food for even more benefit than the crop itself. Fried bugs were invented for human food that time, people were happy with new dishes and the crop issues were gone, it was a win-win.

Grasshopper when caught Crispy fried with a little sauce, it will be very delicious..Some people eat it with alcohol, some people eat it as a snack..but it's quite expensive because grasshoppers are scarce and very rare..must be imported from abroad (in the country there is no ) Fresh grasshoppers will fall at 500 baht/kg.🤔

See thats the way! thdse are delicious clean eating. theyre so small that they resemble leaves or flower buds which they feast on! they are at the top of my list as a protein source and easy to get and raise on grasses. i had them 1 time in my life at a restaurant in san francisco. i dont get to go with so its rare i get these food rites. in farmland califormia the fresh vendor drives all the way to oakland and los angeles. thank you for the peek.

There was one time around 30 years ago when a big invasion of grasshopper heppen in Thailand. At first they were hopless to eradicate this problem until they know that grasshoppers are delicious. The market offered very good price and people catched them like crazy. Then within 3 weeks, the problem changed to insufficient grasshopper supply. Thai people need to begin grasshopper farm since then. 😂😂😂😂😂

When hungry, you’ll be surprised what you can eat. In Turkiye we have the biggest cuisine but we only consume limited organic products. Just basic; no sharks or dolphins. As meat, beef, lamb, chicken. If you try to serve anything strange like bugs, frogs, snails and pork , you’ll get Turkish people literally sick.
