Can we appreciate the fact that this man has spent so much time and effort to explain this to us like we're babies learning for the first time with an empty mind? It makes it easy to learn step-by-step and understand the reason behind why we use different methods. You taught me this concept better than any other math teacher. Thank you.

hi! this is an amazing video! it explains very clearly and slowly. however, I’m still struggling to solve an equation on my own. can you help me solve 11k2 + 2k - 5 + 8k -k2 +9 . I wrote “2” where the exponents should be as I can’t type proper exponents. Thank you so much :D
@MathsKitchen4 жыл бұрын
Hi Michelle, thank you - glad you liked the video. The general method with these is to simplify all the terms - in your case that gives 10k²+10k+4. You don't say what it is equal to. If it was equal to zero you could then simplify it further by halving everything. This gives 5k²+5k+2=0. You would then factorise or use the quadratic formula to solve. However, this equation doesn't have any roots so you wont be able to do that. Could you check the question to see if it was equal to zero or not? Thanks, James
@jundong1553 жыл бұрын
I figured the answer I think. Its : 10k3+ 4 Just saying the "3" that I wrote is like an exponent but it doesn't allow me to type exponents so yeah!

Is it still OK if I got the same two brackets, but my left side bracket and right side bracket were "swapped" compared to what's in the video? (X-5) (X+2) instead of (X+2) (x-5)? EDIT: Later in the video he says "it doesn't matter which side goes on the left and right as long as they are correct otherwise.
