What makes this man so special is that you need only hear a couple of bars and you definitely know it’s Guthrie. Same is true of Jimi, Jeff, Peter Frampton, BB/Albert/Freddie, Etc… the telltale sign of a virtuoso

As ever Mr GT, you are such a breath of fresh air, not to mention a deep well of musical inspiration and much needed earnest and honest humanity. As a man of "a certain age", i find being around younger generations is great, and its wonderful that you are giving them experience (if its any consolation, my youngest son is very good at never putting things back). For what its worth, i live in rural Oregon, still working as a remote IT worker, but always pursuing music, working on our little ranch, getting out under these big western skies are a few of my pleasures. I am not qualified to call myself a guitar teacher, but more as a "guitar encourager", and have a number of younger players come by my little studio for some time for musical encouragement, no cost of course. They are such a delight to work with and keep me thinking young.

Love it, not painting yourself into a corner, riding the wave. As for what I do? I've had a vast career, currently an IT guy. Two years ago, I picked up the guitar after a 20 year stall, vowed to learn fundamentals, took voice lessons, and haven't looked back.

Retired musician here. You could play a major scale and I would recognize your tone. Out of all the guys I’ve heard on KZbin, you have my favorite tone. And I know it’s not the equipment although that helps, it’s in your fingers and the way you pick.

Hi GT, thanks for another video of golden guitar/musical technique! I'm 8 yrs into retirement after 33 yrs in the petroleum industry, working in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, I putter about now, riding my motorcycle, playing golf and trying to become a better guitar, plus there's always something to do on this 7 acres of Northeast Texas dirt I now call home. I'm also a sponge watching KZbin videos GT, Uncle Larry, Jedd Hughes, Brett Papa, Jack Ruch, Justin Ostrander ...keep up the great work!!

Hi Guthrie, love your work. Try talking Uncle Larry, Jedd and yourself into bringing you guys to play here in Tom’s home of Cleveland. I will rent out the House of Blues which seats close to 2000 and I know we could sell it out. Plus we could plan a great event and simulcast it live. Randy from Tom’s home of Willowick

Thank you, Guthrie 🙏🏻 The lessons and insights to your craft are much appreciated. I'm an electrician by trade. Currently unemployed, looking for that to change. If all goes well, i may be able to retire in 6 or so years. Other than that, I write some, sing, and play bass and guitar. Nothing too exciting...

Hey Guthrie, I'm retired now, but I spent a number of years as a working artist in the cartoon biz in Los Angeles in all the studios there. Did a lot of teaching as well. After that a number of years in solar energy design. Now days I'm working on the house, and playing guitar...in and out of the pedal steel and piano too. Since you asked. Cheers!

Oh shit! My 15 yo thinks the house just cleans itself! Also, my young students have a hard time. understanding they have to accumulate experience. Technique, single line (scales), double stops, etc. are educating the ear! Enjoy your rants. Thanks! I've been a "creative" as long as I can remember (70 yo) patching together movement, music and visual arts without much financial success. But we managed to be comfortable. It's never been easy and I'm growing tired of the hustle; preferring napping to trying to get that next Franklin. Teaching mostly and producing less and less product each year/month. Best past-time is golf, whcih I also suck at but enjoy the hell of- mostly it's about the company we keep.

I am a retired Scientist 77 years old. I've played for quite sometime, bass in a Blues Band. I have a Les Paul Studio. I would like to have a Telecaster but am on a fixed income so I have to maintain a budget. I am recovering from a Heart Attack that occurred around 14 weeks ago. I'm still recovering but getting stronger with each day. I worked for many years an Environmental Chemist. I'm originally from Estill Springs Tennessee and taught in Franklin at BGA for a couple of years. My sister lives off Hillsboro Rd. over toward Brentwood. I'm going to time my next visit with when you are playing in town where I can come and watch you play. Anyway, I love your method of teaching. I've played a long time without attaining a level I'm satisfied with. I've played long enough and tried many videos to know click bait. You tell the absolute truth. Ear, it's hard, Chords....ect.. You teach a lot in those few minutes. Anyway, you ask for us to tell a little about ourselves. so I did. Thank You!

Guthrie don’t tell Uncle Larry I think you’re a better player. I’m an IT architect for a living and I really wish I could play guitar all day. I’ve been playing for 58 years. I’m trying to be a teacher for my retirement, that and maybe play the Golden Corral with my looper. I’d really like to do session work somewhere. I’ve never done it. My channel has recordings I’ve done with Logic and LUNA
