Expanding Our Love: From Self to All | Aravind Balasubramanya /

Brother Aravind explores how to develop intense love for God and see God in everyone. He discusses how Swami Vivekananda's life and teachings can help us to expand our love and see God in all aspects of life. We also hear a story about Hal Honig - a devotee who was able to see God in a robber and transform a potentially dangerous situation into a moment of love and connection. We ask for the grace to develop intense love for God and to see God in everyone.
Speaker bio:
Aravind Balasubramanya hails from a family that has been devoted to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for nearly half a century. His father was a photographer of Bhagawan in the late 60s and early 70s in Brindavan and many of the old black and white photographs we see of Swami have been through his lens.
Inspired by his parents, especially his mother, to spend his life with his Swami, Aravind joined Sri Sathya Sai Vidyapeeth in Calicut, Kerala for his primary education. He joined Sri Sathya Sai High Secondary school in Prasanthi Nilayam for his high schooling. He followed it with a bachelor's in science with specialization in chemistry from the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning for which he secured a gold medal. He continued to complete his master's in science (chemistry) and with the desire to stay with Bhagawan went on to do his MBA too.
It was in the institute that he got several opportunities to speak in the Divine presence, act in many presentations and plays and also pursue photography which he picked up from his father. He was careful in recording almost every day that he spent in the physical proximity of his Lord via his many personal diaries and photographs.
Aravind with his love and zeal for Swami and His mission continues to share and spread Swami's teachings with his unique talents in using audio-video skills in wide range of social media platforms and giving inspiring talks around the world through personal appearances.

The idea of prayers is communicating with God. God loves if his devotees talking to him By frequent communication we know God better ..faith develops. Like a mother will b very happy if her children asking small things ...even though some of the asking will b ridiculous and she just cannot oblige. But still she enjoys her children asking ..

When Swami came to the airport that day. Exactly as he had said. Those who wished to see the cosmic form could see the cosmic form. And everyone indeed saw it. But missed it. Swami's form, is the Cosmic Form itself. When the lights in the car were switched on. That was the Darshan of the cosmic form. His apparently 5 feet 4 inch form is actually the Vishwa Roop itself. Actually whenever we saw His Form, we were actually seeing the Vishwa Roopa but we never recognised it. His form is the Vishwa Roopa. We never understood the magnanaminity of that form, the humongousness of that form, the expansive of that form, the infiniteness of that form. We thought he is a 5 feet 4 inch figure with an orange robe. We missed the understanding that His Form is The Vishwa Roopa itself. We had wrong ideas about the Vishwa Roopa to be some light and sound show in the sky. It was always in front of us for 85 years and we missed it. We saw it yet we missed it. Because despite Him telling, we never believed He was God. We always feel shy in admitting He is God. We make it politically correct by saying "He said We are also God". But God will only see God, how can the unbounded admit to existence of the bounded? So from His perspective we are God. But from our perspective we should not say "He said we are God so we are God". No. From our perspective, forget the idea of being "God", we don't even exist. He alone exists. We are like dream characters in His lucid dream. We are like figments of imagination in His Mind. We are not God. Once a lady wrote to Swami Vivekananda saying "Swami I understood finally what you mean - You mean everything is God". Swami Vivekananda replied saying "When did I say such crazy things?". Being aghast the lady replied to him with his own quotes where he had said that, she said "See, you yourself have said it here here and here". Then the wise Vivekananda replied "When I said everything is God, I did not mean everything is God. What I meant is GOD ALONE EXISTS". Seeing Swami's form was like seeing a mountain of gold and mistaking it for a dune of shiny sand. How unfortunate we are.
