TIPS!!! You DO NOT need to choose what platform the trains need to go to, it's more of a headache for you, the trains will do that by themselves when they hit the gridiron. Yes, you need a gridiron at the stations, you can build out quite far from the station with your tracks and then merge them all together with a gridiron. There is no need to make your own "criss cross", it will be chaos after awhile, especially when you start forgetting platform selections (Which is not needed due to putting a gridiron). Please don't put supply towers in the middle... You will loose lots of money and speed because of it. Place them just before the gridiron

I'm coming into this 6 months after you posted it, so I'll wait until I've watched the other vids to add comments - except to say that you've massively overbuilt those stations this early in the game. There are better ways to expand and connect station platforms, but with only a limited number of lines using each station you only need 2 or three platforms. Early money is more profitable in building more connections.

45:08 Q: What is the optimal cities to add in one line? A: As many as possible into a single line or better, use a loop bcz circular loops are more efficient than linear systems. Ideally, there should be 1 line from Dover to Birmingham. An Express line should go w/o stopping at cargo stations for best results. Freight line would have all stations connected. This would allow a freight train to pickup material for the all cities connected in the line and transport through the length of the line. Thus, resources would be delivered to all stations and you will not have to build as many warehouses, supply depots and maintenance extensions to the stations. Supply depot (near dover) would not be required as trains would run from Birmingham to Dover and there are plenty others present. Also, building SD near stations is important so that they do not have to stop 2 times. However, in this setup, the main line would be 4 track line w inner lines for express and outer slower outer ones for freight. Ex: Jones terminal if connected in series: London > JonesT > Dover. Grain would flow through the entire length of the line. But if it went upto Birmingham then grain would be transported to London, Oxford, Birmingham and ofc, Dover. This example also allows for only 1 maintenance extension to be built amongst these cities. (Unless the distance is too much and they need another maintenance extension before they can return to the original maintenance extension).

Supply towers act like signals too. That's why your last train was waiting at that point. But you can add signals, and it's gonna be mandatory if you keep adding trains on that line :) The way you built your stations is future proof but very expensive. At start i'd rather connect cities via multiple trains: Dover London then London Oxford etc... because trains are pretty slow. You chose Birmingham as your city so i think you should expand in a star shape from it. Cambridge and Liverpool next !

The only problem with playing other games that are similar to others is that you're so used to doing things with one game that it never really works as well when trying to do the same thing, (or at least the same way of doing things), on other games. You have to, 'unlearn', and try to adopt a way of playing the game in accordance to how the game you're playing works. Sometimes, it's easier than others. Getting to do things in one game similar to others can also be quite frustrating as you know what you want to do, but not how to go about doing it.

before expanding look ar ur city needs because u mostlym only provide meat and cloth and beer its only like 3 gods and u have below 60% demand fullfilment when above 60% ur city will grow faster and 80% and above it will be the fastest growth so provide more goods then u will have gigger citys and have more pessengers also maybe split cargo and passenger so u get express lines so instead of automatic put cargo and express lines and the warings u get sometimes about train without cargo where u put track salaction just says only min 8 then it will wait at station for grain or other goods and only go to the city full wich ofcourse save some cash

Your being extra pull all line out 8 mines then install then transfer signal on all 8 lines delete the end bast the signal thay you don't need all train can use any 8 stations lanes that way you also don't need to care what train uses what lane just make sure your lines after the signals have directs set the trick your doing is only used for dual lanes going into a single station lane 😉
