Long distance relationship do NOT work in any country or race. He fattened up her bank account and she got smarter. Hmm this guy will give me anything I want. Now she got her education money and a boyfriend her age. This is for all you guys thinking of getting a young Pino lady, would you go after a woman who is 20 to 30 years older then you? Or could you date a pretty young girl in your city that much younger then you, the answer is No. If your not meeting pretty girls in your city that want you what makes you think all the girls in the Philippines will? Your handsome there because they think your rich and can provide for her and don't forget her family also. Wake Up all you Guys.

I met my wife as a pen friend 1990. I visited Manila to meet her then visited her family in Davao City. I managed to get her over to London on a fiancée visa. We got married in London 3 months later . We have two kids boy and girl. Both in their 20s. We now have a little granddaughter. We are still together,. I think if you are going to get married, you have to live with her either in the Philippines or your home country.

Good for you, now what is the age difference between you too, I'm betting its not 30years plus. By the way I have been going to the Philippines now for 18 years, first 2 years for 2 months now I go from 5 to 6 months. And not once did I think or believe that one girl 25 to 40 years love me for me. But I'm still friends with a lot of them even to this day. Even from my first time there 18 years ago. But I didn't go there to meet girls nor did I need to.

Thailand has hundreds of thousands of similar stories. I avoided such assisting a few expats recover & get home. Just before this pandemic, 68 yr old educated guy from San Diego; had lost his US wife of 42 yrs to a long battle suffering battle w/cancer. He was & is still devastated, yet he moved to Thailand. Immediately a young lady clung onto him w/sympathy, consoling him. Over a 6 month period, she took him $18,000 US Dollars ...in finding out, I dragged him to the train heading to Bangkok, he flew back to the US the next day before she got the last of his savings. She was some pissed at me ...hehehe We later found out through respectable folks in this small city, he wasn't her 1st victim. There ARE many wonderful, honest, caring men & ladies on planet earth ...some actually have a strong faith. When a lady partner of yours gets up each night at 3 AM and has prayer time with God, THEN ...you know you have a keeper! ....Right Paul?

We love your videos! Anyway I met my Filipino lady in Hong Kong. She’d been there working as a domestic helper for over 20 years. We got married there in August of 2014. We had 1 marriage reception in Hong Kong and then flew to the Philippines and had another family reception at the family farm in Cagayan Valley. Wonderful beautiful country there. We spent a total of 15 days together before we both flew out, with her going back to Hong Kong and me flying back to Kentucky. I started petitions to get her to the USA as soon as I got home in September of 2014 and finally got her to America/USA on the 12th day of June in 2016. The best news is we filed all the necessary documents and paperwork since she arrived here in America and she became a U.S. Citizen on December 10th 2020. If we had to do it over, we’d do it again. If she asked me to move to the Philippines I’d agree to that in a heartbeat, but she likes it here so much that I doubt if that will happen. We are now living in Southern Indiana and are living a simple life in the country with our chickens and growing a garden.

Thanks so much Paul for sharing this. And thank you John for being so candid. Sometimes I think what happened to me is I gave a Filipina an offer she couldn't refuse. She was ~40 so I thought she was grown up but now I'm not sure. I think she loved me but not the way a wife needed to love her husband. I brought her here to US and she quickly changed. In the end, I feel she didn't really feel for me what I felt for her. The thing that scares me is how can you tell, when you really love a woman, is she loves "what you can do for her" or really love you. I don't trust myself to be able to tell the difference ; I don't know if I can ever get past it. I know security is part of it, and it's really about commitment and a decision to be with one person, but what happens when you get older or are too boring or not rich enough. At her core are you really her one and only, or just the best offer she could find.

Stan I think you have to take your time and know that no matter what they are going to believe the foreigner is ''rich''. I've always tried to actively dissuade them of that. I can only say that I've met a few Filipina's over the years (the first one in 2004) and like you always had a bit of doubt until I met the one I'm with now. Paul put it best I think when he said that when you stop noticing other women you know you have a keeper! For the first time my doubts disappeared completely! Doubt is often our intuition trying to tell us something. Sometimes we have to trust our ''gut''. It's hard I know from my own experience, but there are to many of us who are happy to not believe its possible! In answer to your thoughts on this I learned to watch for the little things that tell you a woman loves you. Unless she is a complete scammer and actress you can tell. Look for what is there and not what you wish were there (we've all done it). If its not there walk away. Another key I think is work on maintaining the dynamic in the relationship. Love (and through a miracle considering what I've experienced in my life, I still believe in that 😉) I believe must be nurtured. Good communication is a must and both of you understanding that relationships take commitment on both sides. Finding someone you have that kind of rapport with is really key. Recognizing that a ''good girl'' will fall for you quickly makes it even more important to take your time because she may be good but it doesn't make her the one. We tend not to understand that when we first get to the Philippines. Recognize that we should not be jumping into bed with a girl we're not willing to marry. Take the time to get to know them first. I do realize that might be considered an old-fashioned idea and not particularly popular with a lot of guys 😂 Ultimately though its what worked for me. Good luck!

I got here about the same time he did, main difference was i had my sister in laws mom set me up with a "good girl". she is a province girl and i love the heck out of her. we have been together since i got here and we plan on getting married (my 2nd time) and she is pregnant. It took some time and we had to work out some things (mostly cultural differences) but we got through all that and both of us are very happy. BTW i had given up looking for a woman while in the US (i was a homeless disabled combat airborne ranger for 2 years) and did not ask my sis in law to do this for me. she just saw how i was and wanted me to be happy like her and my brother are, she also knew i was planning on moving to the Philippines for medical reasons (cold weather cripples me), and price of living (i live off of my 100% VA disability). although i hate this quarantine stuff I am much happier then i have been for nearly 10 years

John is a good example that long distance relationships ,dont work , I visited the Philippines for business and fun for 5 years until i realised this , I feel that if John lived with her ,things would have been different for them , before I met Sarah I was with girls that had boyfriends in America or Australia , I would be sleeping with one not knowing this , and the next day she would say to me her Australian bf was visiting in a couple of days so she cant see me for a little while , if you want to find a Filipina to marry you have to come to the Philippines to live

John seems like a nice enough guy. My thought is that only spending 40 days a year, expecting a solid relationship, is a HUGE risk. Can it be done..yes. Is it being done ..yes. But wheew, I would never suggest taking that route. Either bring her back there or come here to live. You cannot exist in two worlds at the same time. It is either one or the other. People get lonely, people get tempted..people can fall short and fail.

yeah i spent six months living in PI and she spent six months in the UK before i proposed then I spent another five months in Philippines I speak 2 filipino languages ( lot harder to get scammed if you can talk to the neighbours about the girl....Pinays love to gossip). Got married in feb now back in UK since april waiting for visa centre to open so she can come also. Of course she is older a business woman and ex OFW bit different if its a very young lass.....dont want to have to help my wife become an adult.

Paul, tell the guy there is no need to pay an attorney. I divorced my ex Filipina wife in the US as well, and all I had to do is go to the US embassy last year in the Philippines and bring the divorce papers and they gave me the cenomar. Tell the guy just to take his divorce papers to the embassy and pay about $50 for his cenomar. No need to talk to an attorney, they may try to take him to the bank!

You have your terms confused . Embassy can only issue "no impediment to marriage" certificate and only the Phillipine government can issue a cenomar. You need both to marry again. I am in same boat. I do agree about lawyers, bottom feeders.

I was once living n working in US, but gladly happy to be back to my country n the city I studied, teach, n is presently free as a bird. Independent is awesome. Doing things I loved to do. For now I am hooked where I am due to this "V" . Oh well, mini market, small n big malls nearby n having my dog around keeps me safe. Relationship, leads to a path of challenges in one's own heart n mind and a lesson to learn. This is one of Paul's best interviews IMHO. Expat John seems like a nice guy with a feel good "under-dog story". I am rooting for John to be successful and happy in The Philippines. I am curious about his future as I am also an older guy trying to plan my retirement in the near future. I used to be a bigger fan of Thailand, but now I think that retirement in The Philippines sounds more likely for me. The only subject that makes me reticent about The Philippines are the tough marriage and divorce laws.

I did the same thing. Many years ago. I found another filipena lady got married and brought her back to the US. Been with her 25 years now. We retired and moved here 10 years now. My advice to foreigners. If you are not ot retired yet is to get them back to your home country. Never do a long distance relationship if you are bouncing back and fourth. You will lose the lady. Ì have know many guys who have gone through it. As well as my self. When the cats away the mice will play.

Hey Paul, .... Another great video. Great job holding it all together. This guy is little high strung, east coast american? Be interesting to see where this guy is at in another year from now if he's still in the Philippines. I do agree with the 9-5 M-F rinse and repeat groundhog day routine gets old. Feels like the hospital is my 2nd home, see and talk to my co-workers more than my wife. I hope the men going to the Philippines for a woman get a better understanding of what it's like meeting women there. LDR, It's much easier to be brave online with video chat that when you finally meet in person. That really becomes the 1st impression when you step off the plane. One thing that can help is to try and exercise patience. The stress of the US should stay there when you land, because the filipina is going to watching your attitude, much like a job interview, to gauge how you are in real life verse the glimpse of what they see on vid chat. Always good to remember that you are not in America and the Philippines will never be America. When in Rome do as the Romans. Simply said exercise Filipino patience and try and take some of that back home to the US when you go. As for marrying in Philippines I think it's much better to do a fiance visa and marry stateside if planning to still live and work in America. The visa process is quicker to bring her to the States 8-9 months, with my wife. (The dept. of homeland security background check is what takes so long.) As opposed to a over a year if married in another country and then trying get a spousal visa. A friend I knew said it took over 12-15 months to bring his wife over from Korea through the spousal visa after marrying in her home country. I like the new couch and scenery. Please keep the vids coming I really appreciate the honesty and the interesting conversations. Hopefully things will open up more before the fall and we can back over there, even though I enjoy a good steak and flushing toilets, I still miss the Philippines.

Then maybe 6 -12 months later we will discuss marriage and only if I have lived with them first. The hard truth is that this guy needs to realize that he is the only one who will watch his ass. He is too trusting. Marriage is a legally binding contract, he needs to examine what he is putting in harms way versus what she is. The person that has the least to lose will have the most control.

Filipinas are some of the best women in the world. They click w/Americans because of English, but there is something about the dynamic where West meets East that is very exciting. Never marry a filipina you met in a pub or in dating sites unless you to know her physically for a long time. Look for filipina by yourself, visit the philiippines. Younger filipinas still prefer their own kind but there is always an exception so they say. Meet someone 30yish and older, career filipina women may treat you better. Then again, it takes two to tango, settle in if you ready.
