There was a very brief window where the Covalex mission had them. You figured out Mel was behind it, but in her email, you could also get coordinates of a drop point out in space she was using for smuggled goods. Then you could fly out to that point and grab...I think it was an arrowhead? Radagast? Something like that. I think it was just in Evo for a hot minute before it was pulled, but that kind of thing? Amazing.

I think you're underestimating how many griefers there will be. I've tried visiting a planet in pyro with just an empty nomad just to appreciate and explore just for it to end about 3 minutes into getting in atmos destroyed by a random player for no reason. I've completely given up on the ptu because of it. Hoping once it goes live people stop just playing deathmatch once they don't have unlimited money

That's just the late PTU, though - you always get anti-social people who will claim they're "just testing combat." But yeah - typically when it drops to live (and after the inevitable free-fly where SC haters flood the zone and try to make the game look as toxic as possible, natch), things settle down a bit. I imagine there'll be a little bit of "OMG LAWLESS SYSTEM!!!111eleventyoneone!!" going on at first, but that'll taper off. Hopefully. If not? It'll make Stanton a lot quieter.

I hear ya. I do think that once unlimited money is gone and there's some risk, people will settle down. The CZs won't be a rinse/repeat cycle as armor and ammo expenses add up. As for the planets, who knows. Aholes are aholes and will always do ahole things regardless of cost.

I’m less concerned with griefing in pyro but concerned that they’ll stay in Stanton. There are already no consequences in Stanton.

this is valid, although rewards for for instance hauling missions are several times higher in Pyro, so there will be a substantial amount of haulers in Pyro ready to be pirated, we'll see how it turns out

In eptu every settlement I go to for missions there is a polaris camping and killing players. So good luck doing missions.

Goes to show a fatal flaw with the game we have been telling them for YEARS, griefers. There's no consequence in any way shape or form a griefer will ever care about, at all, none. This is why those types have been waiting for pyro and 4.0 being so important to do everything in their power to ruin it for as many people as possible, for the lulz, and CIG is doing absolutely nothing about it. PTU is a mess with it right now and everyone is just saying "well, we told you so, and you ignored the warnings". For as desperate as they are for 4.0 to be a rep boost to the game, they sure are doing absolutely nothing to ensure it goes well lol. They may rush it out next week as a broken mess, and griefers are waiting to have a field day with it.

My take is that the anti-griefer crowd has always been an exceptionally vocal minority, who hope to have non-pvp servers.

That's not viable in the PU, though - just way more players. And I'm sure there'll be lawful players that'll start camping the campers. That's what happened with the original Jump Town in the long long ago. Pirate orgs would lock it down, lawful PVP orgs would show up and shove them out. I agree with the general take there's just not much disincentive in the game right now for piracy, marauding, or griefing, but BHv2 shouldn't be too far behind. Hopefully™

Expectations are low honestly. But if we get stable servers, the entire game gets much better. Consistent hangars, elevators, and access to the inventory would be a massive QoL update😂 As a mostly solo player, I know I’m going to need to stealth my C1 out before heading into pyro and play smart. I’m looking forward to it. And hopefully my org runs some pirate interference to join in on.

Honestly, aiming low with expectations for this first 4.0 patch is a good one. There will definitely be broken things they didn't see in the PTU. But yeah - agreed: hopefully we get better server performance. That alone would be a good patch, at this point, but I'm hoping for more.

it's a little tough (atm) to facilitate "don't go there". starter missions generally send players to Rustville, RAB x, etc. Building Cargo rep with RnR? There's only a handful of routes they'll send a player. Besides all that, it's not pirates that are the problem. 3 out of the 4 trips to a planet, I've been jumped, not by pirates, just people f'in around. In one trip, I got missile spammed by a phoenix. Ran out of flares, RIP. Corpse run in a buc, landed, and jumpy by a Fury. lol It's Pyro my man!

I will say I'm concerned about optimization. The stations in Pyro hurt and make CZs tough. I don't have bleeding edge tech, but the system is pretty beefy. The cpu loads are harsh atm.

also: I don't know why lawless has to mean trashy. When my org opted to base in Pyro this ptu cycle, I was not looking forward to it. Have a little pride RuffnRdy. Pick up a wrapper every now and then. That said, Pyro has grown on me a lot. The jank just works. The elevators are the coolest character elements they've introduced so far. It's awful and it works. You're right the wild lines are more frequent. I think we're on the verge of some of the story telling elements being implemented or at least it feels that way.

it's tough for me to judge Pyro right now with just about every mission being borked. Deep space hit bases don't open. Cargo delivery destinations are hostile. I mean the missions are as jank as the setting! I think it's going to be a cool place. It won't be for everyone. I'm not sure it's even for me, but there's something to Pyro I'm digging and as they get all this stuff ironed out, I think players are going to dig it to.

In order to have ORG balance we'd need like 10k minimum players, maybe more. If everything was a 1 -3 player ship, we'd be good with way less, but having ships that require up to 65 lol... you need a sh*t ton of people to balance that out. Otherwise if two orgs have a proper "fleet battle" you are looking at potentially 500 people per side. That's a 10th of your server population with just that. No idea how they are going to make that work.

Piracy is griefing. Pirates always have the advantage and the game has no balance for honest players. Without the game having counters to pirates, those players are griefing.

not expecting from 4.0: any fix to update any of the forgotten ships or originally promised gameplay (which would go far to repair a lot of the growing erosion of player goodwill; but hey, worms and fluffier clouds are apparently a bigger thing to expend resources on). then again bigger systems are a good thing. shame we can't effectively qt anymore (note: 315p and a lot of other forgotten ships recently had their qt nerfed heavily). seems to be a long, ignored, and forgotten list that the shills and fanbois just don't bring up...

Dont make Videos If you dont know the Infos. there was a 50 Player Cap. Not 12. Station was delamar. And Pyro dont have more Locations. It has much less 😂 i can Go on but i Stop here
