I am from India, seriously planning to Visit Japan in next couple of years, Japan is one of my obsessions that I hold very dear and proudly! I don't want to visit with any travel agency or professional tour planner groups, I would like to visit independently, I am just a bit worried about the communication challenges that I might face especially in the rural countrysides (One of my priorities), but that's absolutely fine!

Osaka is 2nd-largest and important city in Japan, also old capital (AD652) as well as Nara and Kyoto. Osaka has a lot of interesting Japanese original cultures. Core Of Japanese culture is in Kansai resion ( Osaka and Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Himeji, Awaji Island, Lake Biwa, Wakayama, Mie, Fukui, Tokushima etc). Tokyo is City of Companies and Buildings. If You want to meet real Japan, I recommend you to visit Kansai.
