Happy 56th birthday, I hit 57 next month :) , Thanks again for using the mic now, your sound is soooo much better. Love the pep talk for still being active after retirement! I really enjoy the overland aspect and the making stuff, fab work, on making stuff work better for you. Cant believe 3 and half years on oscar mike, seems like just yesterday you were starting it! Take care.

Thank you so much! And thank you for being so positive and helping me grow in a more professional direction! Took me a while to get the Mike’s, but I absolutely love using them as they provide great continuity of sound when I flip the camera back-and-forth! Yeah, when the video came up on my feed this morning and I saw it was 3 1/2 years ago. I was so surprised, and sometimes I take for granted the platform but seeing where I came from, definitely showed me that the hard work and consistent action paid off! Thank you for sticking with me through this journey. I so appreciate you! Cheers, brother!

Yes I have too many projects as well. Task lists and just doing one thing on the list is king

Totally agree! Just keep pushing every day and knocking things off the list and sooner or later you’ll have the type of life you really desire! I’m getting close to having my dream set up inside. The truck on the truck is just about exactly what I want! Thank you for taking the time to comment I so appreciate you!

Tim, you are my favorite KZbin channel. I have an M1083 6x6. I love your honesty. You talk about life and motivation. I appreciate it. Question for you: any regrets about solid mounting the box?
@TRCa51
@TRCa51 2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to reach out! As far as solid mounting the box not one regret at all! You do have to take a new account. My frame is a half inch thick and double stacked for the wrecker. I’m welded up front to the bulkhead that used for airlift and then bolted down the sides nine places 2 feet apart. Really allows the suspension to work really well on the truck. I just got done with an inspection after my last off-road trip. Zero issues and would do it this way again! Hope this helps. Thank you so much and enjoy the rest of your weekend! Cheers!

That is good to hear! I was on your side when you solid mounted it. I don't have that tough wrecker frame, so I will have to use captured spings. Another question: what thickness 2x2 square steel tube did you use for your walls and roof? 1/8"?
@TRCa51
@TRCa51 2 ай бұрын
@user-ob4dp7ov2r the outside corners I did 8 inch and every 2 foot on center I use 2 x 2 by .065. The main frame rails are 2 x 2 by quarter wall. All the stringers coming out to form the flatbed are .188.

Thanks! Is the roof solid enough to walk on? 0.040 Aluminum sheet over 2x2 .065 steel tube seems like it would flex but maybe I need to watch your build video again where you do the roof. I am a novice fabricator, thanks for your advice.

I like how you've optimized your work areas. Gasoline dirt bikes and fabrication details are why I tune in. Sorry, but for me it may be a long time before I go electric. Meanwhile its Utah mountains for me next week! Is 590 engine hours on a ktm 350 exc-f too many? Runs great and valves were perfect 200hrs ago, last checked.

Good to know! You’ve been with me a long time also! I sure appreciate you taking the time to watch! I remember watching ride man ride the KTM 500 around the world! They never did a rebuild on it but did check the valves. Valves are a great indication that everything is going well! I love Utah! Enjoy your time up there! Thank you for being a long time supporter! Cheers, brother!

Happy 56th birthday new to the channel love your content I am just wondering I am going to build my own truck build here in a minute I know that you had your own Ryder truck add switch to with the overhead cab which one did you prefer
@TRCa51
@TRCa51 Ай бұрын
I absolutely loved my rider box van! Being that I had the cab over that’s where I started sleeping, which gave me a lot of room. At one time I hauled a dirtbike and a rock crawler still had room to spare. I built the expedition truck to encompass everything I do and be able to even live out of it if necessary. that being said, I prefer the expedition truck over the box van, but everything has its pluses and minuses. I’m currently building a Humvee hi/ low camper. That will be nice cause it will fit in a parking spot and be just under 8 feet which will fit in some parking garages if necessary. I’m definitely here to bounce ideas off of! Thank you for subscribing and leaving a comment! Always here to help! Cheers!
