Antrim has some of the most amazing coastline for exploration. The Causeway coast contains so many wonderful sights and breathtaking places to paddle.
The plan was to paddle with the group to Port Moon Bothy exploring incident management scenarios along the way; however a weather front threatened to leave us locked in at the Bothy on Sunday meaning plans had to change slightly.
Added to this, two wonderful paddlers, Will and Donna got the chance to complete the final parts of their sea kayak leader assessment after 5 days of ISKGA Incident Management training and pre assessment with Jeff.
Once again, I became a learner while being a Guinea pig for these two wonderful paddlers and leaders.
We pitched up tents at Balintoy only to find ourselves progressively eroded by the conditions, as one tarp or tent at a time failed in the early hours of Sunday morning, many of us resorted to other means of shelter until sunrise. Some times the weather messes with your best plans - thankfully our plan B considered this.
Thanks Jeff for a wonderful trip - Jeff's last of this round of training in Northern Ireland. I look forward to future 'bigger' expeditions with him in future.
