I think the expansion is a necessity, like Tuscany for Viticulture and Prelude for Terraforming Mars. With the meeple and resources you start off with, it also reduces the playing time, another bonus. Will you all be at Gencon?

I agree, I enjoyed the game so much more and want to play it again now with the expansion. While before, I actually didn't like it due to the flaws that it addressed
