Expeditions Mechs Painted Quick! A speedy method to get your mechs looking cool!🤩

Thanks SO much for this video. It's exactly what I needed to jump into painting my mechs. I started with the silver spray paint (thanks for that because the results are amazing straight away)but took a different path right after that. I used the Army Speed Paints 2.0, but used the gray instead of black and I used two coats. It is such a good match to the illustration on the boards. I'm so happy with how they turned out, especially since this was my first time painting minis. Quick question, I wasn't clear if the Shining Silver was speed paint or non-speed paint. As far as more painting videos, I would vote for moving on to something different. Something that requires a different kind of base coat perhaps, maybe not a metallic look.

Thanks for watching! The paint I used to highlight wasn't from the speedpaint range. As speedpaints are designed to run off the smooth surfaces they aren't great for hightlights! :)

I used a similar technique for my scythe mechs. I did prime them black though and just drybrushed dark metal, then black wash, then highlighting with a silver drybrushing.

Great question! For this one, we painted from nothing, so we didnt primer, first steps is the silver/metal spray paint.

I clicked on the link for the 'metal spray paint' but it did not bring me to that exact product. I'm wondering, is it 'metal' spray paint (meaning spray paint for metal), or did you mean to say 'metallic' spray paint which I can find in any hobby store? Thanks!

Are you able to do this to the metal figures in the ironclad edition? Just finished painting my dune deluxe set

I haven't had a lot of experience painting on Metal, If you wanted the same result as us you could spray paint them metallic like we did and follow the steps in the video, however you should be able to apply a black wash/ink or thinned down speedpaint directly on the metal mini to darken the recesses more.
