Ive not had the best of days today, but this short film has just calmed me down. The sounds are so beautiful.

The Beatrix Potter exhibit at the VA was an almost life affirming experience. Never have I felt so connected to someone I have never met. Her books always felt special but to actually feel like I walked through her life was beyond words

I lived in Far Sawrey, next to Near Sawrey, until the age of 20. I am so glad of my early life with all the seasons and links to the farming year. It is stunning to live in too. The video took me right back to being a child again. I went to see the exhibition at the V & A, where bits of this video are shown on a big screen. Well worth the admission fee. There are lots of her water colours from different collections.

My favourite place on earth. We're very lucky to have The Lake District within an hour of our home. It changes with the seasons and never fails to impress us with it's magnificence and beauty.

I was fortunate enough to go and see the Beatrix Potter exhibition at the V&A when it was on. This film played on a loop on a big wall projection at the end of the exhibition and no word of a lie, I sat there watching it for a solid half hour / 45 minutes and forgot where I was. Was so meditative. Want to go there myself properly now ❤

One stunning scene after another, just a beautiful area this Lake District. Then at the 8:42 timestamp.....I had to freeze frame the video. And just stare. Wow! Just speechless looking at that landscape and view. What a lovely place to be. Wish I could visit one day and experience this beauty first hand.

Stunning! Hard to believe such a magical place exists here. A perfect setting for so many types of art to be drawn from. Incredible work capturing such beauty. This is somewhere now on my list of places to visit and I’m very much looking forward to the exhibition

I have an idea of England as a very manicured place that has been smoothed out over centuries. I'm from Canada and haven't visited England (yet!). This video shows that there's still rugged beauty there, and it makes me want to visit all the more.

Less than 1% of the island is 'built on', with England being at 2%. This decreases even more when the tide is out. You really don't have to go far to find a field.

I must have lived in the Lake District in another life....ever since I saw the first picture of it decades ago, it’s looked like home. My favorite episode of the David Suchet “Poirot” series is the one called, “Dumb Witness,” bc it’s set there in and around the most beautiful home and everything feels so familiar to me. I do love it so!

Stunning! I am just now reading "Beatrix Potter's Gardening Life" by Marta McDowell. If you have not read it or even heard of it, go out and buy it. It's much more than a mere biography (of which there are dozens). It's a time-capsule of her day-to-day gardening life; what she planted, where she planted it, and who gave her plants for her beds. It's marvelous for the gardeners among us.

Was the Lake District a, Nat'l Park when BP was alive, or was it in the domain of 'public land'?
@rsmith63662 жыл бұрын
It became a National Park in 1951. Beatrix Potter died in 1943.
