Na m'n dansles, zaterdagmiddag, bij Wereldkampioenen Jan en Lies Daniels, moest ik (vanaf 1963) rennen naar de Oude Kerk voor kaartjes 's avonds, vanwege de grote belangstelling 's zomers van de buitenlandse touristen, en dan zo niet alleen wanneer er de Nederlandse coryfeeen concerteerden, maar vooral ook, wanneer er Richter of Walcha speelden

Bijna alle orgels van Arp Schnitger en zijn leerlingen klinken goed en hebben veel dezelfde prachtige klank. Rudolf Knol en Vater hebben veel van hem geleerd. Ondanks de vele veranderingen van het orgel in Amsterdam herken je toch de Schnitger klankkleur.

+JohannusChurchOrgans *If memory serves me correctly, the Vater-Müller-orgel, Oude Kerk Amsterdam (NED), is actually a IV+P instrument* (Hoovdwerc (II), Rugwerc (I), Bovenwerc (III), Borstpositief (IV), Pedaal) with five rows of six drawknobs each on either flank of the keydesk. The LiVE® III is perfectly scaled for instruments in the ballpark of the D. A. Flentrop (NED) III+P/33 at Adolphus Busch Hall, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA; but reconstructing the larger Müller and Schnitger new-builds really call for a four-manual MONARKE® LiVE® with up to seventy drawknobs.
