Old Dalquharran Castle, located near Dailly in South Ayrshire, Scotland, has a rich history dating back to the late 15th century. Originally a fortified tower house, it was greatly extended and converted into a stately castle around 1679. The castle was part of the extensive estates held by the Kennedy family, who were influential in the region.
The castle's design features a rectangular keep with a round tower at one corner, and it was later expanded to form an L-plan. The Kennedy family continued to enhance the castle over the centuries, adding gardens and landscaped grounds. However, financial difficulties led to the sale of the estate in the late 17th century.
Old Dalquharran Castle is accessible to the public and offers a glimpse into Scotland's architectural and social history. The castle's ruins, along with the surrounding landscape, provide a picturesque and evocative setting for visitors interested in exploring Scotland's past.

Hello! Another great video and great work! Thank you, friend, for sharing! Those walls are amazingly straight & square. Although it has seen better days, there's something fantastic about the quality of workmanship when you see old buildings like this still standing. If left to nature, the thing that will expedite it's demise will be the weeds growing on it, with their roots pushing apart the blocks & allowing water to slowly dissolve it. Sadly, it's been left for 200+ years with no maintenance & will still be there in another 200+ years, slowly dissolving... Interestingly. Keep it up! Stay safe out there. Cheers 🤝

The old stone is so much better than Kenmure's brickiness! Though parts do look very dangerous (cracks etc) she still looks a good solid building. Fantastic steady filming on the inscription at the end (a quotation from Rhetorica Novissima by Buoncampagno de Signa, published in 1235) - no fluctuation at all, impressive control.

Cheers, Paul, this was one hell of a find that's been sitting in front of my nose for years. A majestically beautiful building, but sadly, how long it lasts now who knows. I was just so glad I got the chance to fly and film it. Far too dangerous to try and enter
