Great reaction! Amira won Holland's Got Talent at the age of nine. She is a world-class soprano. Here in this video she was 13 years old and already reaching notes beyond the range of regular sopranos. She sings classical, crossover and musical genres. Amira has sung in 10 different languages. As she participates a lot in big concerts, her many videos are spread across several channels. She has around 90 videos with over 1 million views each, among others. Amira is the most popular soprano of all time. She is currently about to turn 20 and is studying BMus at university, specializing in classical singing and orchestral conducting.

Because her voice is so clear and beautiful, she can sing so many genres, like opera (O Mio Babbino Caro - with André Rieu, La Virgine Degli Agneli, Flower Duet), but also musical and other beautiful songs (Gabriella's Song,), the theme song from "Once upon a Time in the West" (Your Love). Recently she sang "Amen" together with the "Ndlovu Youth Choir". Everything is so beatiful, you'll get goosebumps all the time. I'm an Amira fan, she's probably in the top half dozen of my favorite singers. Love her cover of "Your Love" from "Once Upon a Time In The West". Kind of short but beautiful! This hymn was written by John Newton (born in London, 1725). In his early days he was a slave ship captain who found true grace and forgiveness in Christ. Amira would say that this hymn expresses her own faith also.She was 13 here and will be 20 on March 27. She has sung many hymns and operatic arias (Nessun Dorma CIG 2017), classics like Nella Fantasia, and much more. Living now in South Africa, she is fluent in Afrikaans, Dutch (her own language), and English, but sings in around 11 languages.

Amira is beyond good. She is exceptional. This was her third song at this concert, she'd already sung Nessun Dorma, and The Flower Duet, with Corlea Botha, two opera arias, one in Italian, the other in French. She was 13. She will be 20 in a couple of weeks. The Hallelujah is not the Leonard Cohen song, but it is still worth listening to. Other reactors don't seem to have a problem with the Hollands got talent videos. They are entertaining, not only for the quality of an untrained 9 year old singing her socks off, but also for her informative interaction with the jury panel. I have added my subscription. There are so many of Amira's performances and every one that comes out one gets the same feeling no matter the genre... Amira has sung an amazing medley from The Sound of Music to incredibly moving renditions of Our Father to magnificent opera arias.. it's hard d to recommend just one! I do always though suggest that to get to know Amira anyone who has just discovered her go first and watch her audition for Holland's Got Talent (for english speakers) when she first sang at age 9 having taught herself to sing from KZbin. From that audition one can clearly understand why she has that calm confidence in future performances.. and also see where the amazing voice came from. You won't have a problem with the HGT video I don't think.

Great reaction to a Great performance. Amira is a wonderful singer, and even more importantly she is a wonderful loving and caring person in real life. I discovered Amira in 2013 because I had been a fan of Jackie Evancho since 2010 when I saw her on AGT, and Jackie messaged Amira her congradulation and best wishes after Amira's first performance on HGT in 2013. Amira was trilled Jackie had reached out to her. They still keep in touch. Amira often sings songs she has heard Jackie perform, this is just one of many examples of that. Shortly after AGT while still 10 years old Jackie took away Michael Jackson's title of youngest solo vocalist to go Platinum. Jackie's First PBS Great Performances Special was filmed just 4 days after her 11th Birthday. David Foster was the producer her PBS Special. Every performance filmed during that Special was Outstanding, Included in the Special is Jackie doing a duet of "Somewhere" with Barbra Streisand. There are Thousands of Hours of beautiful performances by Jackie on youtube but only a very poor quality home video of Jackie singing Amazing Grace during a Mass at the Church the Evancho's belonged, Jackie was 8 then. There is a audio on youtube of Jackie singing Amazing Grace age 9 taken from the "Prelude To A Dream" CD the Evanchos produced and sold. I would really love to see you do a reaction to Jackie. A good staring place would be Jackie's first performance on AGT in 2010, or ANY or EVERY performance from Jackie's first PBS Special.

We don’t have words to describe God and when we find ourselves at a loss for words as is the case with Amira it’s because she is a God given talent and there simply isn’t words to describe what she is singing. As for your Christianity you by all means should study it considering it is the biggest and most important decision any one can make while they are still alive. Afterwards it’s too late.

Hello. A very nice first reaction to Amira ! I suscribed. And what a wonderful vocalise she did at the end ! The highest note that she reached in this performance was said to be a D6, which was also Maria Callas'highest register... Besides, she seemed to do it effortless, and she was only 13. I suggest you listen to her rendition of Ave Maria composed by William Gomez, in Canisius Church, Nijmegen, Netherlands, in 2015. I am definitely not a religious person, but in this Ave Maria, Amira sounded like the angel Gabriel himself... 😊

@@micheallewis9156 , I am so very sorry to hear of your brother’s passing! 😔 I had three older sisters who were 17, 15, and 12 when I was born. So I was the “baby boy” of the family. Sadly, they’re all passed away now, my middle sister in 2010, then both my oldest and youngest sisters in 2016 within two months of one another. In fact, my oldest sister passed on the same day and in the same hospital as my father-in-law within just hours of each other. So, I can understand and feel what you’ve been going through! She had several strokes,the first about 2005.He was alone when he passed away.His son was living in Germany with his family and his daughters with theirs,about twenty kilometers away.My younger brother and I had visited him twice the day before,once in the morning and then later in the evening. Dazza, you have just been in the presence of, and been awed by, the Princess of Opera, Classical Crossover, and Christian Music! In fact, in Arabic, her very name "Amira" means "Princess"! Beginning around age 7, she taught herself opera from watching YT videos! No formal training up to age 10 or 11! At age 9, she auditioned for, and eventually won, Holland's Got Talent! It may be appropriate to add some historical comment: Amira won Holland's Got Talent in December 2013, at age 9; she had no singing lessons prior to the initial audition. (If you want to watch these, look for the versions "for English-speaking viewers). In January 2014 she got a recording contract with Sony Masterworks, and a singing coach, Maike van der Wiel, who coached her through the recording of her first album in February 2014; it went gold within two weeks. Her contract with SONY ran for three years (the maximum for a contract with a minor in The Netherlands), and she made a second album in that time. In July 2014 she performed with Andre Rieu and his orchestra, in Maastricht - that was an absolutely incredible performance. She visited South Africa several times, and performed in the initial "Classics is Groot" concert in Pretoria in 2016 - notably singing "O sole Mio" with Patricio Buanne. Her contract with SONY ran out in January 2017 and she got another 3-year contract with Coleske Artists, Pretoria, performing at their concert in June - "Amazing Grace" was the third item she performed in that concert; the first two were "Nessun Dorma" (From the Puccini opera "Turandot") and the Flower Duet with Corlea Botha, from the French opera "Lakme" by Leo Delibes. She also made her third album with Coleske Artists in 2017. She moved to South Africa in 2018, and now has dual citizenship. She will be 20 in ten days time, and is starting her first year at the University of Pretoria, where she is majoring in Bmus voice and conducting. Others will tell you about her charity foundation, "Gelukskinders", which she started at age 10. She is fluent in Dutch, English and Afrikaans, and sings in more than 10 languages.

G’day Mate. So many people are in the same boat as you are, especially when you start from one of her later performances. This is why I’ve created a sort of generic comment as found below. It might look long, but it has a lot of links, just skip those you’ve seen already. But to truly appreciate Amira, you just have to start from the beginning. Amira Willinghagens suggested Viewing order As a sort of preface to my suggested song list, I’ll say this. She only had the 3 performances, in Hollands Got Talent, and I have never seen anyone improve so much from performance to the next. If you think the first one is good (and you can’t help but will believe it is), then just wait and see the joyful series of surprises that are in store for you for her next two appearances. She did have lessons after the first appearance and it clearly shows. Holland’s Got Talent Ep1 Just remember, it’s about who has talent, not who is perfect. She does have a few phrases/breath control issues, but it’s still a huge delight to listen to. And the reasons why it’s so delightful will soon became very clear as to why. I have never seen so many truly and honestly GOBSMACKED reactions from judges before. Their jaws were literally dropping in sheer and absolutely honest disbelief and in (very pleasant) surprise too. Her calm poise is also a wonder to behold as well. And she was only Nine years old. Also, watch out for when they show the shocked draw dropping reaction from another contestant backstage. One outstanding song was preceded by a commentary by the singer herself and you get an insight of who she is and why millions WW love her.
