I shared this with my Daddy a few months before he died. Touched him so deeply that all he could say was “Thanks.” He was a Methodist preacher. Our family has been here since the 1600s and there has been a preacher in every single American generation. This is powerful for so many reasons-- thank you for this gift.

Man this really gets a lump in your throat. Just thinking about all the people that used to live in the Appalachian mountain range that made a living off of coal mining. That was good America. Im not even from around there but whenever I visit this will 100% be playing. Hopefully someone can bring the glory days back. Thank you Phillip Bowen!

Thanks much
@Factsfeelings-lb1kh8 ай бұрын
There was good and bad to it but at the end of the day, a lot of those coal miners didn’t have much of a choice. They were too poor or uneducated to find a job anywhere else and it wasn’t like anywhere else in the region was offering a different line of work. God bless them for their sacrifices to give their lineage a better life. This region still has a great amount of jobs around natural resources. Just remember, to the people of Appalachia, outsiders only ever seem like people who like the culture but sneer at the people who live it.

I have always loved and wanted to learn the violin got my first one a couple of months back.a nice Suzuki 300 from 1976 baught in Japan and brought over an older women was selling it to repair her churches window after storm damage. I told her that i would use it to not only have music help heal me but to heal others that need it more then they know. I hope to one day turn out with talent like yours and to follow my Appalachian instincts and play a fiddle with more emotions like you have. For now tho unfortunately im stuck with little segments here and there i can play.
