I was in Rothenburg ob der Tauber in July ‘02 with 68 high school students. I remember how breathtaking the Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas store was. Our tour guide sneaked me away from the group to show me his favourite place. We shared stories of our childhood Christmases. You have brought back very fond memory of a special day. Thank you.

Hey man, I just wanted to say thank you for doing these videos. My wife and I are in the middle of trying to start up a non-profit and a few side hustles to fund that and ourselves so we don't have the means to travel to such beautiful places or even leave the house that often. So we put your videos on and it makes us feel like we have a window into a bigger, more beautiful world and we feel less trapped and imprisoned in our circumstances. You honestly have the best walking tour videos I've seen. And they really humanize these places and cultures, making us feel like the world is a beautiful place with good people in it. I hope you continue doing this for a very long time!

Thank you for a lovely video. My husband was stationed in Germany 1965-67 and Rothenberg was one of our favorite places. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was filmed nearby then and we even went looking for the set! Lovely place.

I was there in the 80s and stayed in a lovely hotel built in the 15th century. The clock tower is famous for its depiction of the "Meistertrunk" where the mayor of the city in the 1600s saved it by winning a challenge of drinking a large draught of wine in one go.

My Great Grandmother was the only surviving member of her family. As a child she was shipped to America right before the war where she was adopted. Her last name was Rothenburg.. I would sure love to know more about her history. all I know is that her family was Jewish and never heard from again.

I am here in Rothenburg right now....but my train leaves in 55 minutes. There is a Jewish cemetery here right in the middle of the medieval walls and also a Jewish quarter. I walked through it this morning. I wish I had more time and could help you out

I don’t entirely agree with this comment. If you go into the countryside you will see people at church on Sundays, Feast or Religious Days, and in most cities too. I have often seen people at their daily devotion in church, and that includes some young people, though mostly older people. Maybe you went at the wrong times. When visiting a church in Europe I always buy a candle, light it and say a small prayer for family and friends, since departed. I’m not of the Catholic faith but am a Christian.

Nice video! Again (and again), nearly all of the zooming was unnecessary. Noteworthy moments in this video: 1) Grillwurst sounds made up. 2) The presents on the roof of the little Christmas bus only go around the edges. 3) I've said it before and I'll say it again: Carousels should ALWAYS have music. 4) A 6'3" dude living in a 6'2" world. I feel your pain. 5) The stone structure at 1:32:00. Is it a well? You seem fixated on it, pausing there lovingly at least three times. 6) The Medieval Crime Museum would have been more interesting in this video than that church.
