This was heartwarming. Ethiopia would be another great destination for a Christmas adventure. Not only because they celebrate it at a different time than the rest of the globe, but for their unique christian orthodoxy that's like nothing else in the world. A series of Christmas in countries with unique christian Orthodoxies would be great. Places like Ethiopia, Egypt, Greece, Armenia e.t.c.

Love watching RS European Christmas special. Does anyone know the name of the song being sung by The Phonema Choral group at 25:00 in the French medieval abbey? We bought the cd from PBS for that song, but it is not on there. Other songs from that group are on the cd. We looked on RS website forum but haven't found any information there. Seems like others on the forum are also looking for more information on songs from the show. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

It should be pointed out, that salubrating Santa Lucia, an Italian saint, is a swedish tradition. Not norwegian nor danish. In the 1920th there was a beautiful contest of who was the prettiest girl as St Lucia. After that there is dozens of St Lucia salubrating the light in december 13rh.

We did Christmas and New Year’s in Seville twice recently. So much fun. Spanish teenagers with arms linked, singing at the top of their lungs while walking in the streets. So happy.

This show aired on my local PBS station a few days ago. I was startled to see a man filming at the festival of Bath with a handheld camcorder! I thought to myself, good grief, when was this special recorded? That brief scene seems to have been edited out of this version of the show. Rightly so, I think. Brief as the scene was, it really dated the whole video, which is an immediate "pass" for many younger viewers.

My main source is the scholar Paula Fredriksen, and there are others. The husband, Jospeh, was from Nazareth, not under Roman aegis at the time. No one travelled for a census! Jeez. No Roman census required that people travel! Look it up!@@justsmy5677
