Experience the World's Most Powerful Fighters at Air Defender 2023

The Air Defender 23 exercise is the largest air force deployment exercise in NATO history. It shows solidarity within the alliance and transatlantic relations. From 12 to 23 June, more than 10,000 exercise participants from 25 countries will train with more than 250 aircraft led by the German Luftwaffe for air operations in European airspace. The participating countries will mainly be deployed from the airfields Schleswig-Jagel & Hohn, Wunstorf, Lechfeld, Spangdahlem, Volkel and Čáslav.
The three main hubs during Air Defender 23 are Schleswig/Hohn, Wunstorf and Lechfeld. The exercises are mainly conducted in three airspaces over Germany. The training areas are based on areas that have been used by the Air Force for routine training for decades. However, they have been expanded for Air Defender 2023 and are partially connected by corridors. The Eastern training area is temporarily reserved for military use between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, the Southern training area between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, and the Northern training area between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
It is remarkable that so many American aircraft participate in a single exercise in Europe. The US portion of the exercise is led by the Air National Guard. A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter planes have come over from various ANG units from the United States. The US Navy is also participating with F/A-18 Super Hornets and EA-18G Growlers from the aircraft carrier CVN-78 Gerald R. Ford. Furthermore, aircraft from Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Romania, the Czech Republic, Turkey and the United Kingdom are involved in addition to the German Luftwaffe.

Absolutely stunning video, a bunch of these US fighters came through my local airport (KPSM). We got the 120th & 175th FS, not sure if the 3 MN ANG from the 179th FS went there or not. What camera are you using for your video, the detail is amazing!

My dad retired from Barnes…36 years at Barnes..my parents live in South Hadley now..I live behind Westover and see the C-5s and when the F-15s take -off and head east they come over and on their way back usually tree top level…can’t wait for the F-35s…once they get them they will be gone on a lot of TDYs just like Burlington VT. Air National Guard

What amazing aircraft, my personal favourite were the super hornets. Would have been nice to see a bit more of the typhoon though, even just a landing, but great work nonetheless.

Been also a few times myself to Russia and the majority of these planes is out dated! Still good planes, but there are only a few Su-57s active like the US has only a few Raptors.

A 20-year-old design now. Still not debugged! Never been tested in combat! With a 57% availability, and already needing a new engine. The Yanks are afraid to put it in a combat zone. I agree with you that it is time for the US or Europe to built a fighter which is cheap and can do its job in these days. the F-35 is too much a compromise to my opinion. the only plane which is doing its thing as said is the Rafale currently.
