@@Lowang_Productions Japan is amazing and even though I have been to many countries in the world, for me there is no place that is a special as Japan. However, if you are disabled in a way that makes walking difficult / painful for you, Japan is really not the place for you. Especially in cities like Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, there is so much walking needed, going up and down stairs, walking for 10 minutes to go to the train etc. that it would be a pain or impossible for people with disabilities. Hopefully you can "travel" to Japan whilst watching great videos like this one.

Shrimp tempura is a great choice! For softer and less sweet options, I recommend trying chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), tamago kake gohan (rice with raw egg), or onigiri (rice balls).

Nishiki market is nice, but the last time I was there, it was so busy, that it was really unpleasant. I looked almost okay when you visited. Thank you for this great video. Most of the food looked really tasty (but also a bit expensive ?). About Wasabi: how usual is it to have fresh Wasabi instead of that paste like here ? Is fresh Wasabi only a thing in really high end restaurants ? And how different is the taste ? Apparently in the west, a lot of the wasabi is actually a bit of wasabi and more horse radish and green coloring :-(.
@experience_japan2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment! Nishiki Market can definitely get very crowded, but I’m glad you found the video enjoyable. As for fresh wasabi, it’s true that it’s often found in higher-end restaurants, but you can sometimes find it in local markets or specialty shops. The taste of fresh wasabi is milder and has a more delicate, natural flavor compared to the paste.

For people like myself who don't know. What is matcha?
@swissfoodie35422 ай бұрын
Its green tea. A powder of green tea, and normally, you drink it: a small quantity of matcha in a bowl, which you top up with hot water. You then use a bamboo whisk (chasen) to mix the tea powder and hot water, and to create a "foam" on the tea. And then top up the bowl with more hot water. Most people either love or hate it. I love it. In Japan, you get plenty of food with matcha, like ice cream, kit kats, cakes, pancakes, chocolate etc.
