Interesting that it wasnt done in Eisenach or Leipzig, Bach didnt leave that area more then a few times. But Switzerland is very beautiful. Its great insight into how it is achieved, now not only the music leaves me in awe also does the technical production.

Very interesting and enjoyable. I’m glad you described the unusual number of microphones and the editing in detail. Your recordings balance the voices and the various instruments wonderfully for maximum clarity, to the benefit of Bach's polyphony. I believe you are setting a new standard for Bach cantata recordings. The result must be better than what the audience or the performers hear-more like what the conductor hears. Maybe close to what Bach heard in his head when he composed the work? Thank you Bach-Stiftung!

Bachstiftung Sorry, J.E. Gardiner's cantata cycle. Last time I looked your disks were still very expensive here in the US. Like the performances on UTube. KDM

May I ask where do you get funds? And I really want to do things like you did in China, but I have no fund at all. I will try to compose cantatas in Bach's style in the future.

I would love to see the spanish version online! Is it planned to upload it any time soon?
@Bachstiftung9 жыл бұрын
Hi there. For the moment, we haven't planned a Spanish version. As you surely can imagine, a production of a translated version is very cost-intensive, that's why we can't offer everything. Kind regards
@naranjovoiceover9 жыл бұрын
Bachstiftung I am asking, because I have recorded the spanish voice over in march at Gallus Media in St. Gallen and was looking forward to see the finished product. Best Regards and congrutatitions on your work!

Makes you wonder about bach’s own performances. He would write the piece first of the week...get together his pupils and family and copy parts towards the end of the week....rehearse on Saturday...perform on Sunday. Just the kids singing who went to the school he was cantor and the players he had at his disposal. Bach’s sons said that he rarely had the musical forces he really needed at his call. You see all this prep....musicians had music for a month...pro singers...the best instruments...everything Bach never had....no catering,no lights, no sound system no pro singers....I have often just wondered what the original performances sounded like. The fact that there is no boy choir is for sure that the sound of these performances would sound nothing like Bach heard.
