As someone who thinks that Godspeed’s discography is consistently perfect, watching you collapse under the weight of their music was pretty relatable.

I can’t express how much I enjoyed watching you experience Godspeed. It was like experiencing hearing them for the first time through you. They have blown me away for over two decades, and nothing else compares.

Super underrated in their discography in my opinion. Up there with LYSFLATH! and Yanqui

Man you just have such an excellent variety in your reaction choices. Picking from so many different genres and time periods gets me so excited to see just what you’ll react to next. Great review as always keep up the good work!!

thanks! I try to cover as many genres as possible. just covering one genre would be super boring so it's always good to switch it up!

Without a doubt this is some of their best work yet. Sometimes I listen to Fire at Static Valley on repeat.

You smashed that reaction!! 👊 they sculped emotion into hugely powerful compositions that mean the world to the people who know and need them!!

I fucking love godspeed! If you haven't then you should listen to their first album. I also recommend listening to long season by fishmans. It's currently one of the highest rated songs ever on rate your music and its my current favorite song of all time it's a 35 minute (40+ for the live version) masterpiece and I think you'd really enjoy it. Ps. It's currently my favorite song of all time. Pss. I know it's weird to recommend a single song but the album is just one long song so maybe you could check out the live album instead where long season is the finisher. It's generally looked at by many to be the greatest live album of all time so I'm hoping it won't dissapoint. Pls consider this even if it isn't for a video I just need more people to listen to this. Thank you This comment was a mess, sorry about that.

If you do the whole album you could probably split the video into multiple parts

Amazing video, man. 🙌 I’ve been following your channel for a bit but this was a lovely surprise to stumble across. You did a great job with the overlays - they definitely channel similar vibes and imagery I get from this album at times. I also completely echo what you’ve said about going into their shows a little blind. Over the years I’ve dragged 1 or 2 girlfriends to see them with me, and they’ve left pretty wowed, grateful for the experience. Their shows really are on a caliber of their own, eh? Especially if you give into the moment and just let it wash over you. More Godspeed or Swans would be awesome but I do agree that it may not be for everyone. Interested to see how this video does, but just wanted to say that I really enjoyed it, and appreciate the work that went into it. It was a great watch and I enjoyed your revelation during Static Valley. Tough to disagree that they’re the GOAT. Cheers.

Loved this reaction man. Godspeed is probably my favorite band ever and I have a tattoo of this album on my back. The editing/videos you put over your reactions are also amazing. Definitely check out their other stuff! One of the most fulfilling deep dives you'll ever have

1) OMG! You were actually at one their concerts? Lucky you! Great video. 2) Oh, God, you made me feel the last song like never before. And definitely cried the most i've ever cried while listening to music. I always felt this song was about all the suffering and the beauty of the world. Like saying to you "look at all that everybody suffered and still suffer today, but also look at all that's beautiful out there in the world. Look at all we have around us", and the final notes being an open-ending that asks: "Where do we go from here? What will we do next?". We have a lot to live for yet; we have a lot of beauty to experience. We can still improve the world. The death/heaven interpretation is also amazing, but in conclusion, this track condenses a lot of sadness and happiness at the same time. A very Radiohead feeling.

I saw them a month ago, it sounds like they played the same set as you heard. Listen to the Bosses Hang parts 1,2,&3. I bet they played those too. I just discovered them a few months ago too and I agree, greatest band of all time. The live show was basically a religious experience.

You should definitely react to Swans! Which albums have you heard by them so far?
@DAVECHER2 жыл бұрын
I've heard To Be Kind, The Seer and the Glowing Man. I might end up doing a video on soundtracks for the blind, really just the insane length that's making me hesitant to react to it
@brightongreet8122 жыл бұрын
@@DAVECHER Soundtracks is really a masterpiece, but yeah maybe a bit long for a video. I'd recommend just listening to that one in a more personal setting. I listened to it with a friend while at his lake cabin once; we started the album as the sun was setting and then listened through the rest of it through the night. The light leaving the sky and being drowned out by darkness as the ambient guitars and organs of Helpless Child build up was a really great experience. For the channel, I'd recommend maybe reacting to White Light or Children of God. They are also incredible Swans album while being a more digestible length!

@@DAVECHER oooo soundtracks would make for an even more interesting experience i reckon. Equal parts horrifying and awe inspiring. Plus theres more tangible things going on to actually react to, rather than spaced out textures
