I'm the person who suggested the video idea to Karsten and it's fun to now see this video come from that! 🙂 I've also considered doing this with albums, but in my case there would be too little variety and too many albums by the same artists haha. Found it easier to apply the concept to movies. But I like seeing others take up this album challenge, you made a good list!

If you’re looking for genres to make 2013 standout you have to check out heavy stuff, emo, and math rock!! Captain We’re Sinking, Counterparts, Deafheaven, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Marietta, A Lot Like Birds, Tera Melos, Touché Amoré, and Tricot all put out phenomenal albums that year! Also RTJ1 came out that year fwiw

Here is my list: 2005 - The Underdark by Funeral Diner (post-rock) 2006 - Amputechture by The Mars Volta (Latin, Prog, and psychedelic rock; narrative concept album … aka “what the fuck why is my brain melting”) 2007 - “Cross” by Justice (harsh noise take on French Touch) 2008 - Un Día by Juana Molina (Argentine Chamber Folk) 2009 - Earthly Delights by Lightning Bolt (Brutal prog aka “what the fuck is happening, again?”) 2010 - Plastic Beach by Gorillaz (virtual band; whatever genre Damon Albarn felt like working on at the time) 2011 - The King of Limbs by Radiohead (IDM solo album by Thom Yorke disguised as an art rock project.
