So instead of deciding to do something else, they designed a game structure and UI from the ground up to support it. It's a super impressive feat of presentation.

It sorts events in chronological order in the replay and name all characters involved in the scene. Through that minor stuff become clearer. Remaining things are remnants of the 50% of the plot they had to cut due to budget

first off, shoutouts to the VAs who were all excellent, especially the ones who had to voice MULTIPLE VERSIONS of the same characters without giving that fact away too early. secondly, this game is such a blast to rewatch with context, older things that didnt make sense turn out to have been there all along and its just one of my favorite feelings. lastly, miura is the best boy no argument

Such a great playthrough to go through! Seeing her struggle to connect things together and then setting off a big chain reaction of "WAIT THAT MEANS-" was so satisfying. 10/10 playthrough for a 10/10 game.

This game is so good, the voice acting is amazing (and a miracle that it came out as good as it did), the visuals are beautiful and somehow all the designs manage to be distinct even through the color palette was alot of the same, amazing game. Only complaint I have was it left my brain in an broken state several times so my repair bill made me go into debt but hey, it was worth it for this experience.

Lowkey, my favourite was the famed detective Renya Gouto lol. He went from evil Chairman to the most just and objective hero. He also gave up on his pride and capitalised on emotions instead of being logical in his plea to Morimura

I wish I could experience 13 Sentinels again for the first time 😭. It's been a year and a half since I finished the game myself but it's still constantly in my mind. Watching other people's first playthrough kinda makes me jealous lol but it also provides a unique experience as a viewer because each player can go through the game in their own ways so you get to see different reactions! I've gotta applaud not just the voice acting but the voice direction. Even the best voice actors will often get lines of text to read with no context or even what emotion they're supposed to show (hello there american Square Enix dubs). These artists put out some broadway performances for multiple versions of themselves, sometimes in the same scene, with very limited conditions due to the pandemic.

What an incredibly ambitious game. And what great sci-fi too, at the end of the day! The only criticisms I have are some of the romantic relationships are weirdly developed or underdeveloped. As big the game is, that's understandable, though.

There was actually a lot of cut content according to dev interviews, and supposedly about half the length of the stories were cut out, so I imagine they wanted to focus on the narrative over the romance when they realized they couldn’t include all of it. An example of this is that Gouto and Shinonome are mentioned to have dated off handedly, but the actual explanation for that was given in an interview, where apparently Shinonome was dating him to get her parents off her back about being around Ei. It’s a shame we never got a full development of Ei and Fuyusaka or Minami and Miura but I think it still works as is

One of my favorite QoL things about this game: At a certain point during the game (when that point is depends on play order), the Event Archive actually starts showing a timeline on the right side. It shows when each event took place and in which sector. And, you know how you can cycle through the Event Archive to filter the events by character? After beating the game, it lets you do that with every version of the 13 protagonists (current loop, 1 loop ago, 2 loops ago, and 2188).

I also played this when it came out on Switch, and by god, it’s become one of my top 20 games. I’ve never seen a game tackle it’s story and presentation this way, and it adds to such a satisfying package overall.

This is a beautiful Atlus game, I never heard of it before. Loved it. I hope she's played Odin's Sphere, that's a wonderful Atlus title. Could never get enough of the fairytale, mythological setting and story building. The effort to get all the Phooka restaurant recipes, for how good they looked, made me hungry for something as simple as eggs on buttered toast every time.

You have no idea how much I suffered during this 40 minutes. This was the first time I've ever seen this game. And I have one... kind of obsession - I always try to recognize any voice actor I consider familiar. And if I fail to identify it due to lack of info in Wikipedias and etc., it brings me so much brain pain like you wouldn't believe... I kinda hate that obsession of mine. For now, I stuck with VAs of two characters: Ei Sekigahara (forgive me if I spelled his name wrong, I wrote it by memory) - the whitehaired AI, as I got it, who might have referred me to Alm from Fire Emblem Echoes: SOV (I can feel you struggling to read what I just wrote) but I feel there should be at least one more option, and the dude on the circle at 30:59 - I insist this is Adam from Sk8 The Infinity, I cannot hear anyone else!!!! But there's no proofs of all that on Wikipedia-like sites. At some point I heard in Ei Rantaro, Dimitri, Reki, maybe Kokichi even... To recognize a familiar voice supposed to be simple when the only expiriences with english dub in your life was Fire Emblems, Danganronpa, Shadowverse and Sk8 The Infinity. And a tiiiiny bit of Genshin Impact, just a microscopic one. Thank you for reading all of this stuff, I was really weary while writing this. I don't even remember what I wrote there now... (P.S. I am still learning English, so if there is any mistake, please help me to correct it. I will be grateful :))

I completely understand. I experience the same obsession to determine the cast of voice actors I hear. Usually I can tell but there is new talent entering the industry all the time. I just finished Persona5 and Futaba' VA threw me. I swear I've heard her before in more than one thing: Erica Lindbeck. But no just: Helluva Boss. If you really want to drive me crazy. Have me try to find a snippet of ost music that has a high emotion connection but is impossible to find anywhere. That's the abyss staring back.

I recently finished it myself and.... I dunno man, I felt kinda underwhelmed by this game. like, the story is good, I don't really dislike any of the characters, but nothing really stuck with me the way that other Visual Novel hybrids like AI the Somnium files, Zero Escape or Danganronpa did. (I also just finished Worlds End Club the other day, and that one is also really good.) While I did like the concept of putting together the bigger picture by getting bits and pieces from each characters, it kinda got to a point where there was so much stuff that I was starting to get annoyed. the combat parts mostly felt like busywork I had to do to continue seeing the stories. I don't wanna be a downer, like I said, it's a good game. but I found severely overrated. I can't quite put my finger on why I didn't like it more (maybe I'm partly bitter cuz they still haven't put Dragon's Crown on Switch).
