With the use of liquid nitrogen, the YBCO compound can be cooled until it becomes a superconductor, and a superconductor placed in a magnetic field has amazing behaviors.
Please activate the subtitles to get more info on the experiment.

About Magnetic Games:
All ways to have fun with magnets.
The magnetism has always intrigued me. The strength of the magnets is scientifically explainable but there's something "magical" about its interaction with the world. My Channel offers you curious experiments and fun games to do with magnets.

I believe the surface of the magnet warmed up much quicker than the inside of the magnet. For instance. When you throw liquid nitrogen onto the floor, it is super cold, and it beads up and quickly evaporates because of the drastic difference in temperature between the liquid nitrogen and the room.

It isn't dangerous because his hands aren't in direct contact with the liquid nitrogen and that he doesn't touch by object for more that 2 seconds. Still, if you want to manipulate objects that are that cold is better to use protection to avoid burns.

Would have loved to see you position the super conductor 90° to the magnet. You have the flat face of the super conductor levitating above the magnet. But does it work if you stand the hockey puck super conductor vertically? And what if you have a stack of superconductor pucks to form one longer cylinder? Would it roll or levitate without rolling over the magnet array?

It may not need the liquid nitrogen to achieve the locking and "floating" on the rail but although this is sometimes described as "frictionless", in practice it is interacting with a magnetic field and you would expect that there would be friction in doing that. Even if it is minute it is enough to prevent it spinning indefinitely.

Great Question. I was also thinking/wondering, If you filled a small rooms air with particles of the magnets would the superconducter be able to defy gravity and float around also?

This kind of transportation, would be feasable, had the cryogen item/puck (being cart/trailers), swapped as the power amp magnet, and the track path was the cryogen infastructure instead, this way, both could have continuously energy feed managnent refill/recharge(indigon flow), mostly usefull in fairly cold climate locations, in or over bridge paths.
