if you did basic chemistry, you would know sodium is one of the softest metals on earth. adding heat to it would just be like adding heat to any other metal, except it would oxidize much faster, and since it's stored under kerosene to make it inert, the kerosene would ignite but not the metal, it wouldn't be too interesting
