Your experiment should be consistent in order to preserve validity. First, the package should be sealed and identified so we know it is a saffron product at all. There's more adulterated saffron in the tube compared to unadulterated, that saffron was also added first (if not added at the same time, then add adulterated 2nd), also you stimulate the adulterated with your finger but use a tool for the other and stimulate it off camera. At that point I stopped watching bc even if this was unintentional, the experiment has lost all validity, especially since you sell saffron.

The experiment was a kitchen demonstration to show the consumer how to detect fake or tinted saffron without having to spend hundreds of dollars in a lab test. Most of the time fake saffron is "spray-tinted and dried out" on the outside of a stigma or parts from another plant (corn cob hair). If the saffron is pure, it releases slowly, stays suspended and slowly goes down taking up to 24 hours to fully release. On the fake one the color separates as it is on the surface so it is released right away and sinks to the bottom, so the experiment is valid, simple, no rocket science. To protect ourselves and our buyers we do have an independent laboratory report that comes with each shipment with the 10 steps of color, aroma, flavor, humidity and six others detailing the parameters of quality which are always much higher than ISO. We have been in the saffron business for over 40 years, and I still consider myself a "saffron student" as I am amazed every day as to how people manage new ways of cheating. The ONLY way to measure the parameters of quality of saffron is photo spectrometry, it does no matter what sellers say, where it is grown, or how it is rated on the internet by "saffron groups". We do not ask our customers to trust our quality base on this video but on the laboratory report that accompanies every order and not only do we sell the best saffron in the USA but we also have the lowest price per ounce year after year. As I said this is just a method for the home user or professional chef to test the saffron they have at home.
