I know it's jumping ahead a little, but I was wondering. Are you going to include _Tetsuo The Iron Man_ when you hit the 80s?

For sure, I love that movie. I haven't seen it in forever, so it'd be a good excuse to watch it again.

Have you seen the sequels? I finally got around to watching them this year. Neither is anywhere near as good as the original, but I enjoyed both all the same

I haven't, but I know they are by the same director, so I'm definitely interested in checking them out at some point.

Each one is essentially the same film, but done with different themes. The events themselves aren't identical, but follow a familiar groove, if you know what I mean. Common consensus is that the first is the best, and it so definitely is. It is true art, from a creator who clearly had a very distinct next vision, even if nobody else in the universe can figure out what that vision is. Then they say the second is a really solid sequel, almost as good as the first which...I can understand, but don't quite agree with. Finally, pretty much across the board, it's said the third, which is in English, is a steaming turdgasm of epic proportions. Something I completely disagree with. It's very different from the other two because it has a very Westernised feel to it, but I think it's contextualised very well and does a really good job of exploring how the metal man concept would be interpreted by Western society. They're all less than ninety minutes, so wouldn't take long to check them out. Well worth a few hours of your time I'd say. I just wish we could get a spin off about the metal cats. That would be awesome!

Very interesting, even if the third one is awful, a terrible Tetsuo movie sounds intriguing, haha. Not surprising that the first is the best, seems like such a unique movie would be hard to make a sequel to.
