Fun fact about Stan Brakhage: He was a professor to two young filmmakers, Matt and Trey, in the University of Colorado. They'd go on to make a show called 'South Park'.

Lol i didnt expect even your brief teaser of The Flicker to bother me like it did. I will definitely be avoiding the whole thing! 😅 I always enjoy watching your videos, you help to make all of these unknowns easy to digest!

I think the one thing I like the most visual in abstract/experimental video "arrangements" are overplayed semi transparent effects with different hues. Like many entities speaking as one wrapped up in chaos.

This explains so much of why my work looks the way it does. My parents were 60s art enthusiasts. Underground, abstract, and psychedelic...alot of these make me think of the ring...like ima get a phone call with a death sentence lol

It's important to include photosensitive seizure warnings when showing material from filmmakers such as Tony Conrad, Paul Sharits, Peter Kubelka, etc. That may sound obvious for those already familiar with their work but I imagine a video such as this could be used for educational purposes by students who might not be.

@@Urlocallordandsavior They have experimental qualities but are not full-on experimental films. (For the most part, at least) They still have narratives usually.
