Oh my goodness, there's a movie called Living Proof that tells the story behind how the antibody treatments were developed by Dr. Slamon in the 1990's, and it wasn't easy! Before that time, a HER2 positive diagnosis like mine was a death sentence!! I don't think any of this happened by chance - even the development of the therapies that saved my life. I'm so very grateful!!

It’s so GREAT to hear your news!! It looked like you cut the straws after every pass. Maybe that was too much and caused the fatness of the teardrop. Might just try shortening them after every other pass? Missed you, so glad you are back👍
@AmyWarden4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Micol! That's good feedback about the straws. Also wondering if maybe just too many layers??
@debbieescobar62674 жыл бұрын
Well I love the way it turned out even though it wasn't the plan. I remember from other videos that as you make layers of the teardrop you push it in by adding base to the sides near the long edges. You pour both sides at the same time to keep the teardrop from curling. So very happy you are doing beautifully and healing so well! You look healthy and happy! You're a tough cookie!
@AmyWarden4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's definitely missing that push from the base soap at the end to form the drop. I was hoping that it would happen because it was suspended, but too many layers just pushed it out of the teardrop shape. Maybe if I just did two or at most three??
@debbieescobar62674 жыл бұрын
Amy Warden sorry, accidentally hit the thumbs down!!!😬 IDK, it seems to get that drip portion to be narrower than the bottom there needs something to push the teardrop to be skinny at the top. Fewer layers would be ok. I just ordered straws to try your method!

Congratulations on the cancer free diagnosis. I'm glad you got through your surgeries safely. Stay safe and well. Could you use a McDonald's straw as their straws are wider and you wouldn't need to cut to fit over the bottle end then hopefully no leaking
@AmyWarden4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Tanya! That might help - I can't be sure if the leaking is from cutting the straw, or awkwardly trying to tape a straight straw on a not-so-straight nozzle!

I am so happy for you on your victory over cancer! I am a new soaper and love it, this is the first video of yours I have seen, but have heard of you and the challenge club from other soapers. Obviously not an expert, but what if you save out some of the base color and after you are done with the teardrop, pour on either side of the skewers to force the top closed?
@AmyWarden4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Cheryl!! Yes, that would be the traditional way of doing the teardrop. I was trying to come up with something that would create more consistent results. Not sure I accomplished that, but it was fun to experiment! 😁
@cherylm64674 жыл бұрын
It is fun to experiment! Some of them don't work how we want, and yet they are still beautiful so how cool is that. Stay well and all the best to you. I am so pleased that your journey to recovery wasn't overly horrible and you had the love and support of so many.

Fingerprint soap! Try layering colours in 1 bottle and do an in the bottle swirl, do squeeze and pull up over the cut lines on the bar
@debbieescobar62674 жыл бұрын
Is this a thing? Do a video!
@mandimoo874 жыл бұрын
@@debbieescobar6267 just a suggestion of what the soap looked like and how I think we can improve the design. By layering your colours in the bottle, you should be able to do 1 squirt per cut line and get that teardrop
@AmyWarden4 жыл бұрын
Interesting concept! I'm not sure I follow everything you're recommending, but it does give me some new ideas!
@mandimoo874 жыл бұрын
@@AmyWarden so layered colours in 1 bottle and a sort of stab and squeeze on each cut line to produce individual tear drops, i think from your experiment you get a tear drop with that motion as long as its not followed by another colour. Just trying to see how it can be done as one movement - but conceded to 1 move per bar so you can really pull the bottle up as you finish each tear drop
@beckyobeck3 жыл бұрын
Good to hear you're out of the woods. I'm new here so this is just a back seat opinion: I wonder if there is just too much volume in the teardrops. Next time (if you choose) maybe just one or two passes through?
@AmyWarden3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that could be part of it! I'm also thinking I should have saved more of the pink soap and poured it along the sides after the drops were poured to close it back up toward the center. That's how the original teardrop technique is done. :)

Its a cool swirl. Maybe try having enough pink left to pour on the sides every once in a while to force the green and white back in a tear drop shape?
