The Yamaha aircraft conversions movement has been one of the most interesting things in light aviation for a few years now.

For what its worth the ecu / display on the 998t sidewinder shows engine hours. I looked at a sled with 2200km and it had 140 hours. Ive also seen this motor in sled form with over 30,000km which has to be equivalent to well over 1000 hrs. Not saying its bullet proof but yamaha make outstanding engines.
@elliottdiedrich3068 Жыл бұрын
The same ratio would put it at 1909 hours for 30,000 km.

Not enough airframes with this engine for my taste - lets wait for a few thousand installations and at least a few hundreds of thousands of hobs on that engine

This stuff looks cool but the good old U.S.A quickly turns into a very huge landscape when you’re up there, and getting somewhere in one day, much less under four hours before you have to pee is what it all about. The first guy to put a STOL wing with pop out lift surfaces on a Lancair or even better a high wing 200 knot composite will really hit a home run. I was really hoping the new Compair 6 would finally be the one to do it but the wing is garbage for slow flight and so just became another cruiser.
