That was a fun experiment. I recently did a block featured on another website that used 4 squares(light, 2 prints, dark) to start with. You pair up the squares having a light with a print and a dark with the (same) print. Sew across the diagonals a quarter inch away on each side of the centre. Then cut each of these squares into 8 pieces (cut across the centre horizontally, then vertically, then cut down the middle between your diagonal seams). You won't believe how many pattern combinations you can make! Just wanted to mention this because you like to try new things and you will have great fun with it.

I have a lot of fun trying new things! Especially if final result makes it look complicated when I know it's really easy!

I love your "let's see what happens" attitude. Not enough people are willing to take a chance. A little hint: If you will leave the square together and cut corner to corner, do a 1/4 turn (keeping it together) and cut the other corner to corner (making an 'X' with your cut), it will assure the squares are all the same size. (Some people are not as good as you are with 'eye-balling' the center of the long side of the triangle when cutting.)

I have some scrap baby quilt flannel strips so will just chop some squares and sew around 4 sides and pinwheel the end results. Seems fun.

What if you took the larger 1/2 brown, 1/2 jelly roll and sewed them together all around - browns in opposite corners - then cut them apart?

Curious why when cutting sometimes you pull backward instead of forward?

I have Myasthenia Gravis and sometimes experience some weakness. I have a little more control when I go top to bottom. Trying to teach myself new methods that keep the control.

There is not enough contrast between your two 2/12” strips on the smaller squares.

My husband says I sometimes need a little help in fabric and color choices! Just because it came out of the same jelly roll set, doesn't always mean they are perfect each and every time.

Your cutting mat makes it very difficult to see the end results of your efforts. I wish you could work on a lighter surface. I teally like your suggestions, when i can see how they work out.

Thank you for watching and for your observations. Maybe I should look for a lighter mat when I replace this one. Thanks again.
