Experimenting With Freeze Drying Zucchini Chips

Put both absorbers in each jar and fill jars full. There is always humidity in the air that freeze dried foods will absorb but a larger mass will be less affected than a small mass because there is a limited amount of moisture to absorb in the jar.

I reaaaally want a freeze dryer! This is making me want one more. I always have so much zucchini in my garden.

We have had terrible experiences with zucchini. I’m out on growing it. 😬 My MIL has great luck, but bugs take mine by the 4th zucc each time. This is a great idea. I don’t have a freeze dryer, but do have a dehydrator. Maybe we can try this with her stuff this summer.

I'm going to do the dehydrator too just to compare. I used to have bug problems, but I discovered that with zucchini I can plant it late, it's past the prime bug season, and there's still plenty of time for it to grow.

Thank you for going there lol...I feel about the same as you do about zucchini! I want going to plant any this year because i still have some shredded left. But maybe I'll now try this!
