We treated a bunch of electronics with the new NeverWet hydrophobic coating, then put them to the test! Experimenting with NeverWet + Electronics

It is always abundantly obvious that Phil loves the work he does. How Becky continues to convince him to be the tester is still unknown.

That's flipping fantastic! Thank you guys for being brave, risking chip and circuit, to demo waterproofed electronics.

Just spraying on stuff won't do away with voids such as the inside of connectors where water can collect and corrode things. Instead enclose in auto sealant putty ("dum-dum"), such as 3M Strip Caulk or other brands that won't get quite as sticky when warm, leaving nothing but cables sticking out. Access would be by simply peeling off the sealant for repairs, changes or battery replacement. Place it in sandwich bags inside and out to avoid the stickiness if necessary.

Any idea on how this impacts overheating?

Starter on my vehicle went out, I think its due to a small oil leak that's getting into the solenoid....picked up NeverWet, applied it to the entire starter, and my vehicle cranked right on up. Not a fix for the leak, but maybe it'll save the starter until I can get the leak fixed. NeverWet did cause water to roll right off, and the starter wasn't wet afterwords.

I waterproofed a laptop motherboard once by covering it in a thick layer of paint. it worked really well.

I am looking for a way to water proof the flight control board in toy grade quadcopters. I don't want to take them apart I just want to spray on the board from the bottom of the quad. The board is pretty protected by the quadcopter body but water finds it's way in when flying in the rain. I was thinking corrosion x or an equivalent, I am ignorant on the subject.

I think this would be great to put on the internals of your computer if it's liquid cooled in case of leaks.

Wouldn't the Pi stop immediately in water without protection. Therefore, the improvement is from zero to 100%. Failure might occur over time or in deep water.

Did you actually try dunking a Raspberry Pi etc in a tub of water first to see how long it works for? If not then you have no idea what sort of improvement, if any, this NeverWet gets you.

It works for a while then it breaks down. Not permanent nor long lasting. It will ruin shoes, and other things. I've tried this product and luckily I tried them on things I didn't care much for.
