12:09 Natasha Newton DOES love it!!I bought a couple of Unison and about 10 or so Jackson's own brand soft pastels at least a year and a half ago and I've only ever quickly played with them - I've never used them for artwork! I keep meaning to get them out again (the colours I bought are gorgeous and there are several you might like too, I think) and figure out how to use them in my work. This could be just the inspiration I need. Thank you, Kriksis!

Also only reading this now. I would love to see your full soft pastel collection! :)) Happy how we can inspire each other! Your videos are inspiring me a lot! Haha, I felt the same with dustiness, but water helps! I am also using fixative, paint medium and going to try mixing soft pastels with gum arabic soon, a lot to explore. :)

It’s so pleasant to witness your experiments and creative process. A little tip I got from Billowing Heart is to add a bit of gum Arabic to your water (or drop a few drops on the drawing) to fix the pigment. Take care and thanks for your art 😘😘

🦊 Thank you - I’ve been kind of fascinated by soft pastels recently, too…probably also a result of watching Sandi’s channel! It was fun to watch you create using them along with the other mediums.

🦊 Beautiful illustrations. I love Sandi Hester! ❤ I saw that video of hers on pastels using water. I have not tried it. I feel like you, it can be a little dusty. The cool textures that water makes on the pastels is amazing. I might have to give it a try. 🙂🎨

I bought some after Sandi Hester’s video too. I’ve always thought soft pastels were so messy, but I love the idea of adding water.

It´s astonishing, what you get out from limited palettes. I don't miss green! And I cannot find a fox emoji, but I watched your video till the end.

Hi Kriksis, I Absolutely love yr final spread! It would look so cool in a Zine!! Please make a zine!:)About the soft pastels, I always been using them that way because I absolutely love the gritty texture, it's almost like using Super granulating watercolour:) also it definitively prevent me from breathing to much dust :).Like Ericka mentioned, you can add some Arabic gum to fix it better onto the paper because water is not enough, but I still fix at the end with a cheap hair spray ( when I can't afford an expensive one:) )to bit sure it won't smudge everywhere. Check the Sennelier ones, I buy them when I can; I love their colour range. Kriksis, beautiful video as usual! Have fun! I don't have a fox emoji but I watched till the end! I hope you'll feel better soon.

🦊 I love watching your creative process 😁 I can’t stand touching pastels or the sound the dry ones make when it scrapes weird on paper so I avoid them. They do make such lovely marks with the water though! If I am afraid of any graphite or watercolor rubbing on the next page I’ll use spectrafix spray workable fixative it is the only one I’ve found so far that I can use that doesn’t instantly give me a massive headache 🙂
